I worked with a Jimmy type. The trick to dealing with his BS is to return the favor. Peers who criticize you are giving you the green light to do the same.
For every “your silverware isn’t rolled right” you respond with “thanks. BTW, you know you were supposed to wash the lemons first”. He’ll be your best friend within 2 shifts.

I’m with Jimmy on the over hiring. That is the first lesson I learned as a young server. I was 16 and this was my first job as a server I let myself get looped into working an insane amount of hours when they were short staffed, the money was great and it was the early ‘90s in NC. Well fast forward two weeks and there are suddenly a lot of new faces to train and suddenly my double shifts became sporadic 4 or 5 hour shifts because I was only part time

People love the Bear for it's realism but working in kitchens my whole life it's not realistic at all. They got the stress part down but not the shenanigans and the weird ahh people that work there. Lotta booze and drugs and shenanigans. Switched to catering and it's a lot more chill. Now I'm a chef at a sorority house and that's pretty wacky 😂
Anyways bistro Huddy is a tinyyyy bit over the top but I mean they're comedy skits and it's still the most accurate portrayal of restaurants I've ever seen tbh. Favorite part is all the milk crates lol you work in a kitchen and next thing you know half your furniture at home is milk crates
