✔ Glad you sold your Charolais cattle. ( I Never liked the looks of them. Haha) 🤠 Your Scottish Highland's…. are a class of their own!
    > Charolais cattle are known for their rapid growth rates and high-quality beef, making them a popular choice for beef production.
However, they can be high-strung and may present challenges in calving and temperament, which can be drawbacks for some farmers. ( Was this true for you….?)

This was very helpful for me to understand I probably will not be able to quit my job and do this full time. My goal is to have a reliable food source for my family (I have chickens for eggs and would love to get sheep for milk). We only have a few acres anyways. If I make some money – good. If I don't, that's ok too. I love the geese

Couldn't help but notice you have highland cattle. they are like farm to table not very practical – the more conventional breeds are popular for a reason.

You have always made it clear there can be no money in farming the way you do. You produce enough for two people to eat healthy and animals to live a good life, which is wonderful in itself. But I think you put in your working hours for no wage. Your book is going to prove that farming this way has not had a chance for a century already. Growing populations who do not farm have to be fed. And you mentioned what would have to happen to simply feed everybody at all. Big farms cause a lot of harm to rainforests and it is going to get worse. People hunger everywhere. There's no way around industrial food in future. We know but wish we didn't.

We finally got around to watching this video. It's hilarious how the paper gets progressively more crumpled as it goes on 🤣. We are grateful for all the work you're doing to make the world a better place, Morgan

Here is what I like about you, you’re not on YouTube, pretending to be some successful farmer who is telling everybody else how to do it, and tell it so many people how wrong they are doing it. Most people talking about this topic on social media, are fake gurus.

Start raising MORE ducks, especially Khaki Campbell or Indian Runner, etc. THEN, take your duck eggs into the local Chinese restaurants. Chinese people buy them for a VERY good price, and they buy a LOT! I even had one or two ladies that bought them from me, in the mid-west, took them to New York, and BACK to China! They can't get them very easily in the states. I made more money selling them duck eggs than I did selling chicken eggs.

You're not slick. I caught that 67 at 1:08 Even though you tried looking away while you laughed LOL. That meme is about my block in Philadelphia so I'm always going to catch you. That's been my favorite number forever

I wouldn't mind starting a little homestead here in WV, or maybe back in my home state of PA. I'm not looking to make millions off the farm, but enough to sustain myself. I really appreciate your transparency in all your videos!

It is good you are embracing the YouTube farmer persona. I think that more people here should be doing that , otherwise it gives the wrong perception that farming is not that hard.

At the 32:32 mark of the video, I see a car drive by on a road. You said you were at the backside of your property where it is all forest. I did not know you had an active roadway back there also. Yes, I always thought your forest trees (lumber) should be a product of your farm.

The food grade plastic barrels or even used ones “just clean good”. They work great for water that freezes there super durable even in cold. Just gotta be creative with how u cut em to hold lots a water

Those plastic water things are a perfect candidate for plastic welding. If you don't want to buy a new tool just yet, an old gun-type soldering iron with a thin, flat piece of metal between the contacts will work. Short bursts of the trigger to keep the tip hot. If you leave it smoking hop, the plastic won't smooth out.

It's a fun skill to have.

Always interesting to see the end of year financial wrap ups, very interesting about the geese pulling their weight and there's no similar market for the ducks

By far, without a doubt, your most profitable commodity that you have is your storytelling. It just so happens to revolve around your farm mostly, and I enjoy that. Happy holidays to you n yours.

You’re making money and surviving off your YouTube channel. None of your animal farming earns you any money at this level. Just be honest about it and say it straight.

It cracks me up when you say the The goats bring you Joy, because I remember a time when you said you didn't want them. I knew you would love them Morgan. You're a good egg❤

As a former cattle rancher your whole operation is irritating to watch. If you have calves dying in the summer, and it’s -5 in the winter, maybe you should make the farm a place where an animal can actually live a decent life. Regenerative ranches put my old one to shame, but we were saints compared to this crap. At least put up a piece of plywood for them to have the wind blocked. The temp range on our farm never got below 30 and we treated our animals better in the winter.

Giving away food (or anything your business produces) is a nice gesture but also a double-edged sword. Not really in the short run, but long-run, it seems like it's much harder to get a fair price for food products compared to the labor and time that went into making them once people realize they can get it for cheap or even free. I don't see one farm in Vermont tanking game bird prices on a large scale anytime soon, but the more that social media remains the primary income for some farms, the less valuble food from any farm becomes.

So you DID find a Vet? I never saw a video about it after the one saying you'd got a letter your Vet was quitting, and you were having trouble finding another.

I Just Love the LOADED Question about the "Wildlife Refuge". Not Wanting STRANGERS WITH GUNS on your land in this day and age is a Very VERY VALID Choice. God Alone Knows if they would Possible Shoot Your Cattle, Your Dogs, YOU. Beyond Scaring your Birds during Laying, Their Dogs coming in and causing problems with your Goats or killing your chickens, or Fighting with Toby and Abby as they Try and Protect them. Yea. HARD NO. They have PLENTY of Other places they can Hunt, They Don't Need Your Land. They can Flit Right Off. If they want to call it a "Wildlife Refuge" go with it.
