Look up the recent graph of pure ev companies free cash flow. Rivian is the absolute worst cash burn in ev history. they're terrible at building a financially sustainable or profitable business considering they've burned the most cash flow out of anyone by farrr

Now that OBBB axed regulatory credits and the $7500 EV tax credit, the math is even more upside down, and that’s even if R2 sells like hotcakes, which is a big if.

I love my Gen 1 R1T, it really is the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. I hope they succeed more than any other company. I think they can do it but there will be hard decisions that will alienate a lot of people to make it happen

The R2 will be sold in the US, Canada, and Europe (and possibly Asia). The R3/R3X will be sold in all of those including Asia. Rivian will be fine.

I suspect one of the large automobile manufacturers will buy Rivian at some point. I would like to see them survive and thrive in one form or another. One opportunity is Tesla's self-inflicted damage which will open up opportunities for Rivian and other electric vehicle makers.

Rivian need to market outside the US fast. Build factories in Asia are much cheaper and faster to export worldwide. They need to roll out the right hand drive asap.

I am and was one of those commenters on your channel warning you not to dismiss Rivian so readily. Yes, they've had problems, but their product quality and talent is too valuable to ignore.

This information of “gross profits” is deceiving ! In 2024 Rivian again lost money on every vehicle they sold. Rivian has ALWAYS lost money on everything they sell. They lost FIVE BILLION dollars in 2024. That’s a loss of $45,000 per vehicle! Regulatory credits can only go so far. Eventually the money is going to run out. This is just basic accounting 101. Oh and their stock has fallen 88.91% since it’s high in 2022. And one last fact. When the Saudis get tired of bankrolling a losing company and pull the financial plug they will collapse.

They don't really plan to make a profit off of R1. They are using the R1 as brand building and awareness. It's the R2 where they plan to make a profit, so its really waiting until 2026 to see how well they do. You just have to wait and see.

I went to college in Normal where their plant is and have some buddies from school who work there now. They've been a huge boost to the local economy so for that I'll always be rooting for them.

Rivian has to continue cutting corporate overhead, they have a lot of overpaid executives from Tesla getting cash compensation because Rivian stock isn’t as overvalued as Tesla stock.

If the overhead gets down to 2B per year and they sell >200k units of R2, combining with the van, EV credit sale, and VW software revenue, they can make net profit. Not to mention more cars sold = cheaper material cost, and more profit = higher valuation and lower cash compensation.

Does anyone really think Rivian is a viable operation?
With the Trump administration back tracking on EV mandates, Rivian's new plant being built that will never pay for itself, buyer resistance and push back to high price vehicles, significant time before Rivian's new vehicles being available for sale, and the continue bleeding cash, I would not bet on it, unfortunately.
I wish them luck, but being realistic, I cannot see them making it.
