A Twiglet Without the Lemon

Justin Hawkins Rides Again | September 20, 2026

A Lemon Twig – just the one – Brian D’Addario releases his first solo album on 20th March and this is the title track,”Till The Morning”. I know I’ve spoken about the Lemon Twigs a few times on this channel, so why stop now?

Is there a fret lifting up in your guitar? anyway, saw the Lemon Twings in Austin … was right in front, and there where just on a different level from all the ass that's out now, Todd produced them, so there!

Perhaps a review of "Spirit without a home" next. Best band in the world right now. Trying to get Rick Beato to highlight them, maybe you can help since he's not listening to me. HaHa

Hi Justin, been a life long fan of The Darkness. Been lucky to see you guys perform live 14 times now. In Glasgow you stopped IBIATCL to tell people to stop filming. 99% of us aren’t filming and it’s ruining the show for us. Lots of people left when you did this. It’s sad to see, it’s a favourite song for many that have come
To see you, it’s being ruined by the stoppages ☹️

A Twiglet without a lemon? Imagine The Darkness without a Hawkins. Gone would be the furious falsettos, outrageous ostinatos, and flamboyant catsuits. In might step a fresh-faced Queen tribute band singer, conjuring the ghost of Mercury into the Queen-and-AC/DC-fuelled rock party. Would it still be The Darkness, though, or just another rock ‘n’ roll séance in search of a soul?

I like the old school song writing style. Great lyrics. I have played with this style a bit in the past byt never could pull it off quite this well. I've always been more bluesy in the way I write & sing.

    Hey Justin!

I know this is probably a massive ask been as the setlist is already finalised, but my Dad and I are coming to the Manchester gig tomorrow and our favourite song is Givin’ Up.

I see it’s not on the setlist and I wondered if there is absolutely any chance you would squeeze it in.

My Dad and I have been huge fans of yours since the release of PTL. We even saw you with Ash at the original tour back in 2006!

Loving The Thing. They just did a couple of singles recently don't love them as much as the previous year's release yet. Ana De Armas, Dixie Queen, Beige Bouquet, The Thing is, and Neptune plus most of the albums are great.

I know you've mentioned the production being really good buy I'd like to hear an acoustic version. For some reason I think it would really work. Make it 3/4, I really hear it. Only a unsuccessful musicians opinion 😁✌🏽

I'm just back from seeing you live in Glasgow. What a gig! I especially enjoyed the part when you rode again on the shoulders of a man and it put me in the mood for watching your videos. Keep up the good work and thanks for all the music recs and fun 🙂

I am a fan since their debut album. I saw them twice live. The last time a few months ago in Switzerland. They are an incredibly powerful live band. Their harmony vocals are out of this world. They are very talented in a world where mediocre and overproduced pop music rules and I wish them more success. It's great that Justin also promotes the band. I can't say that I am a Darkness fan but it is obvious that also Justin is an incredible musician with open ears and great taste looking out for talent. I also at some point bought two three-cd compilations of their dad Ronnie d'Addario. It is obvious that already their dad was incredibly talented but not as lucky as his gifted sons. But I also would like to extend my thanks to him for the beautiful music that he gave us and for the Twigs musical schooling!
