I think it's a great idea. It would DEFINITELY get mass attention, and thus being attention to Betty the Elephant and her situation.

Well, here's a thought: Since this all boils down to money, stop wasting time and money debating the matter and launching a negative campaign against this old school, parking lot circus; and instead, get a bottom-line price for Betty and that could be raised online in a matter of days. The PR people for Alice in Chains would be fools not to be the first in line to put up $ to get the positive, feel good press on this. Everybody wins, especially the elephant. Barnum & Bailey, "The Greatest Show on Earth" retired their animal acts. This circus had to know this was coming, sooner or later. It's time for everyone to do the right thing for Betty.

I've only heard bad things about PETA but good or bad I don't think AiC should change their band name. Instead maybe they could promote the cause in their live shows or post about it on their social platforms to get the word out. Hell I'm going to post this on Facebook to find out how my peeps feel about it.
