Rikki Rockett On Poison, Bret Michaels, Pete Evick, & The 40th Anniversary Tour

The Hair Metal Guru | December 15, 2025

Rikki Rockett was in the news this week after responding to some comments made by Bret Michaels Band guitarist Pete Evick during his interview with me that dropped on Monday. Rikki offered to come on to set things straight on what happened with the Pete Evick controversy, and what’s happening in the world of Poison.

Poison if they ever tour again please do a no hits tour I'm a huge fan of poison from the start I've met poison and I've met Bret twice and Rikki twice and the band all together one time poison really needs to stop doing the same show and stop playing the hits frankly it's the same show every time the last tour that I really enjoyed was the power to the people tour after that I just wanted to hear other poison songs I been to ton and I mean tons of there shows over the many years change the set list completely do songs from every album every album has great songs frankly it's boring hearing the same songs over and over again

Rikki iโ€™m a huge fan of yours. Iโ€™m a huge fan of poison. I grew up in the 80s with you guys. Absolutely love you. I love all the members you inspired me not only in my drumming, but also I want to start my own business making custom drum sets like you do. Iโ€™m not at the point where I can get it off the ground yet, but you inspired me to want to do that Iโ€™m 57 now Iโ€™ve been a journeyman pipe fitter for my career. I wanted to be a rock โ€˜nโ€™ roll star, but Iโ€™m not talented enough like you are at the drums. I would say that Iโ€™m a good player, but Iโ€™m not at your caliber but anyway I really love this interview. I love you guys. I hope poison gets together and works everything out. Would love to see you guys in concert again sometime I live in Oregon right now, but Iโ€™m going to be moving to South Carolina soon because the work in my trade here isnโ€™t good but anyway, I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate you and keep rocking man. I love you.

Everyone wants to see the real deal POISON. Bret, Rikki, CC, and Bobby. Bret needs to sign the deal. I am glad they are doing good on there own side bands. But the original POISON would be P R I C E L E S S …..

I love the hair metal interviews. I first started watching you when I was in hospital in March when you had Rikki Rockett on the first time and I watched a ton of your videos while I was in there. Thanks for bringing back my youth so keep kicking ass.

Brett gave up on the band because heโ€™s greedy and can pay nothing to a backup band rather than share the money evenly with the REAL BAND. Pure and simple greed. And they never change the damn set list. Jesus Christ do something DIFFERENT for a change.

Iโ€™ve seen Poison โ˜ ๏ธ many times and I want to tell you that they never ever disappoint and put on one of the best Rock-n-Roll shows Iโ€™ve ever seen. Letโ€™s get it done come on Brett for fucks sake

If they dont tour soon Poison will be playing 5,000 seat amphitheaters not 20,000 seat
Arenas. Bret Michael's arrogance does not see rock is dead. There has been no band that took over
The hair band scene since the
80s Bonjovi, Cinderella, Guns & Roses, etc 45 years plus

I hope Poison tour. Went to see BMB and was very disappointed in Brett. He was inly on stage for 55 minutes and talked for half of that. He didnโ€™t play half of Poisons greatest songs. After the show, everyone in the crowd was looking at each other and asking if the show was over. No one could believe the show was over. And a lot of people were pissed off, including me. I paid good money to see a half assed show by Brett. Told my best friend I will never pay to see BMB again. Iโ€™ll be hard pressed to pay to see Poison, even though Iโ€™d love to see Rikki, CC and. Bobby play again.

Why would you interview a hired gun guitarist? Thatโ€™s just odd and weird. The hired gun should keep his fat mouth shut too! Side note: Poison needs to fire Bret and get someone who wants to tour and write new music!

I think Pete (who ?), was putting his foot awfully close to his mouth, but Rikki's simple & humbling comment defused the situation, and hopefully it's on a positive note now. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘

Massive Poison fan, honestly probably my first ever favorite band as a kid growing up in the 80's and still love them now. But to be fair and hear Pete's side his interview on Chris Akin's show that came out last week cleared up alot of confusion imo. There's room for everyone, keep it classy folks. ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿ‘Œ

What we need, apart from a new tour, is NEW releases. Anything would do it at this point. A lost live show, a dvd with weird things, unreleased songs, a couple of new songs, anything!

Ever since 2022 we've been waiting. They said 2025, and it didn't happen. Now it looks like 2026 won't happen either. And that's why the singer always has the advantage and holds the cards. Because as discussed, he can go out and play the songs without the rest of the band. Which sucks.
