Same is the case with me. It seems like a good thing to go on asking why, due to its portrayal as interesting, curiosity, understanding properly or in depth etc. But from a practical view, it's better to not fall into this bottomless ditch lest you break your head and go bananas.
Similar is the case with proof. You can unendingly go with the question, 'Prove that'. (Well, actually that is why itself.)
'Thinking as an obsession' requires a tweaking in it's highly positive connotations. It has a high potential to be aggravating.
And when you don’t know some of the details you may throw your own bias into the mix to fill the gaps, your own subjectivity, your best shot with the data you have which is the best we can do. But this happens in a nuanced way, and the errors express themselves subtly. When two are trying to cooperate but are in disagreement, subjective data clash, they’re trying to resolve these subjective errors without undermining too many of their other models, as this is stressful on a biological level, emotionally dysregulating.

Ask why long enough, and you'll end at God (omniscient designer) or chance meaninglessness.
