Clone Robotics’ new prototype (named Protoclone) uses hydraulic muscles that work much more like the human body. More efficient perhaps, but there’s not getting around it – they’re creepy as hell.
Today we’re talking about Clone Robotics, plus updates on life extension research, AI therapists, and how to stand out in the age of AI slop.

Joe, that spot on your forehead reminds me of the movie I saw yesterday, LX2048.
It's a dystopian future, B-reel movie.
The sunburn was only ancilliary, sort of like the one is here.

Honestly I imagine the more realistic outcome for the clone robots would be similar to that of the Anime "Plastic Memories". Though if I may be honest I'd actually like it to be more like "Chobits"

"those given a daily dose of metformin over three years experienced slower aging of the kidneys, lungs, and skin by up to five years, and slowed aging of the brain by up to six years."
Wait. Over a three year period, five or six years of aging was prevented? What?

Hey Dvorak! That's been my primary keyboard layout for 24 years now, and have never looked back! Nor have I bumped into anyone else that uses it, I think I am on my own 😢
Weirdly, I cannot type on a qwerty keyboard, I'm like constantly searching for keys, however if I go to a public device, or someone else's phone, I will happily go full flow so long as it's on a screen rather than a physical keyboard – but guess I'm not touch typing right?
Anyway, there are real Dvorak people out here, thought you should know!

A bit confused here…. if he has never really heard of that robotics company then how would he know the other videos they do have the creepy vibe? Hmmmm intresting huh? These creators guys never tell the whole truth these days.

I'm rewatching the Thai Cave video again, after posting this comment, because I loved it the first time. It's not what I typically think of, when I think of a JS video, but 2 things become abundantly clear while watching it, if they weren't already: No matter the genre of whatever you're talking about, (1) you're a FABULOUS storyteller, and (2) you understand how to create quality art; video just happens to be your medium. But you're an artist at your core (layered in science and facts, on top). 😊👍 #fangirl

The cave story tanked because …well for me it was so interesting I went and watched the movie instead of finishing the video.

Hey Joe, long time listener, dont remember if i ever commented before. One reason thst I can think of for that mine video tanking might have just been people fatigued from having so much coverage in the news? Anyway you're good people in my book and hope that uou keep succeeding in this and future endeavors. Love your videos!

I watched the Thai cave video and found it really interesting, but I think part of the reason it didn't do well is because the topic has already been covered so much in the news, movies, other Youtube videos, etc. I think most people are interested in your videos about topics we don't already know about, or don't know a lot about

That Thai cave video was excellent. I had heard the story before via YouTube but didn't know 90% of what you put into your video. Sorry that it didn't perform as well, I hope it does get more views after this video. I know nothing of the YouTube algorithm, but it seems like its constantly changing. That must be a pain to deal with as a creator who genuinely wants to educate while being entertaining, because a lot of big channels are just mind numbing nonsense that gets tons of views and clicks, and I can't stand those kinds of videos. I know I watch some low effort channels, such as police bodycam videos, but that's because it's a glimpse into the chaos that cops have to deal with, and it shows the psychology of people who live in our country. It's scary that some of those people can vote.

i dont know if anyone will read this, but perhaps one argument for why the cave video tanked is that people were not ready to watch something sad. i watch almost every single video you make, but that video off the bat felt like it was gonna be an emotionally charged video and i didn't feel like embarking on that kindof emotional journey.
