The levels of false equivalency in that prison guard analogy are staggering. By that logic he would be saying that white and black people are not equal and that black people are incapable of making their own choices. Clearly I don’t need to pick apart why this whole argument is insane but my god do I want to continue…

And the fact that the entire argument as a whole is essentially a call for segregation lacks the slightest bit of an understanding of history or what has been done for black people in this country by the brave people who fought and died in the civil rights movement. I either feel sorry for them because they are ignorant and possibly mentally ill or I really dislike this person because they are doing this for attention. It’s harmful rhetoric either way.

I first came in contact with this type of thing in 2015 when living in Philly.

I lived in a house with lots of people and we always had lots of people over. And this person named Lea was told to come by. Lea had some issues clearly and I just tried to listen the best I could then one day they were super into uhuru stuff.

We’d hang out. I don’t think before the Uhuru stuff we didn’t want them around because I think they were not good at boundaries or stuff.

And it was really distressing. The hardest part is that we knew this person had some issues psychologically or something.

Also some of us in the house were white and some weren’t. I’m not. And they’d come into our house and just say this Gazi shit and play it on their phone.

And my friends who were white were trying to listen.

And it was hard and weird because. Their rhetoric made sense for that time for white people needing to listen. Which is sort of true. But I think there is a limit to that because

Even hearing the first few minutes of this video I sort of get it.

But this person would just get really weird about it.

But to see how this ended.
I remember in 2016 looking up Gazi’s name the first results were people calling Gazi the N word and the f slur.

So I sort of felt for Gazi.

But this person Lea would come over and say shit like
White people are ugly and dumb
And then they said to me
It must suck being mixed race
Being half inferior and it’s basically rape.

And I was like
Get the fuck out of this house and don’t come back ever.
