A river of whiskey flowing freely through the Irish streets. There’s just one problem – the whole thing is on fire.
“The Dublin Whiskey Fire took place on the 18th of June, 1875 in the Liberties area of Dublin City. It lasted a single night but killed 13 people, and resulted in €6 million worth of damage in whiskey alone (adjusted for inflation), None of the fatalities suffered during the fire were due to smoke inhalation, burns, or any other form of direct contact with the fire itself, but from alcohol poisoning after drinking from the 6-inch (15.24 cm) deep river of whiskey that is said to have flowed as far as the Coombe.”

I have a bit of Irish blood in me and when I was in high school, my parents and I were talking about the upcoming prom and my mom mentioned that students would have to take a breathalyzer before we could be let into the prom and I replied “Well I’m partially Irish so chances are there’s gonna be some alcohol in my veins” lol

My Great grandmother was Chased out of Dublin (by her family) for having the audacity of falling in love with a British Squady, he brought her over here 🇬🇧 small Woman, only just over 5ft my Great grandad was 6ft odd, he Survived the Bore War WW 1 and was as quiet as you could be, She'd scared the crap out of me when she got angry, that's when the Irish accent Properly came out. 👍😁👍🇬🇧👍🇮🇪👍😁
