I think you have to adjust your definition of ''facts' and 'Accuracy'. Adopt the Family Feud Survey definition of 'correct' where Texas and Alaska are tied as the "largest state" (I saw this the other day).
Then whatever someone at the mall might think is a correct fact, IS a fact. There you go. We're having a good time

Haha! I’ve rewritten lyrics because I found out I was using the wrong definition of the word; I know how he feels, it feels wrong to sing it when you know it’s not right.
I just came from the 5o’clock video and I was thinking during the joke that I had seen 1/2 hour zones once when I was looking something up. So funny that he addresses this.

When someone says "this guy", that would mean they're not speaking to you. They are talking about you to other people in the conversation. Let's say we're standing in a group of people talking about people doing crazy stuff, people that just don't care. You're standing beside me. I point at you and say to the group "This guy dropped his hamburger, picked it up, gave some to his dog and ate the rest. This is a guy that doesn't care." People laugh. Speaking directly to you would just be weird and lose the entire point of wanting to share something about you. Hope this helps.

There is a point though, that if a joke has verifiably inaccurate premise, it distracts anyone who actually knows that inaccuracy. its like a drummer making a mistake for people who are drummers. it jars the experience of the viewer who notices it. Now on the internet, there are people who want to 1up the "professional" but there are also those who want to point out an error that might be glaring to a sizable amount of people. I didn't know that there was a half hour time zone, but when i heard that bit was like, Is that true? I believe that anytime listener asks "is that true" to a premise of your joke, you have found a weakness.

This guy thinks that comments are only meant as communication to the video creator as opposed to communication with other viewers. This guy also assumes all creators read the comments and all commenters know and expect that all creators read the comments.

Dusty is one of the funniest men alive, and the 5 o'clock bit is pure gold.

By the way, in Nigeria they are also 1/2 hour off from us. and it takes NOTHING away from that bit!

I live in Atlantic Canada (NB) and Dusty's "It's 5 o'clock Somewhere" joke is sooo funnyπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. People who pick jokes apart for accuracy have no sense of humour…they should stay home and do their taxes and let those of us who appreciate a good laugh, Laugh! Luv you, guys!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚β€οΈπŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦βœŒοΈ

I love that bit from Dusty. Being a pilot, I was aware of the Newfoundland half hour time difference when I first heard Dusty do this. It didn’t bother me and I never thought it was relevant enough to point out and ruin everyone’s good time. I understood the premise and spirit of the joke and it is funny. I also understand Dusty’s explanation of wanting to be factually accurate. That all being said, I personally LOVE the bit and hope Dusty has much more success and doesn’t sweat these miniscule trivialities too much.

This is one of my favorite Dusty jokes, and I didn't know there were half-hour time zones either. It does kind of hurt the joke, but not that much because it is nowhere near common knowledge. When it really hurts the joke is when the wrong statement is something everyone really should know is wrong. So, you're sitting there going, "Either he is stupid, or he thinks we're stupid."

Great to get to listen to Dusty when he isn’t β€œon”. Love his stage act, watch his YouTubes all the time, but watching him sitting comfortably and having an intelligent conversation is great.

Whyite westernized world of whyite man thinking doesn't recognize your idealism so I'm not laughing. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

David Cross had a great joke about how people misuse the word β€œliterally” and then the definition of the word was changed, making his joke impossible to do. Still great joke though.

I hate this shit too. Absolutely hate incorrect/false premises and I can’t move past it. I’ve learned that saying anything to that effect inevitably gets a β€œyou must be fun at parties” response. I’m not fun at parties but that’s not why, goddamn it. (Its called alcoholism)

One bit that comes to mind is a Katt Williams bit where he says something about β€œnobody even knows what the Iraqi military uniform looks like!” when Saddam Hussein even wore one himself 90% of the time
