One potential avenue Em might explore to mature into relevance while maintaining his own iconic integrity: if he takes on the topic of slurring itself, and delivers some fire bars with his unrivaled technical skill, over some unimpeachable production. I haven't listened to his latest drop yet, so maybe he's done something like this already?

This album was actually pretty successful
It sold 454k in the US first week: became the best selling album of 2018 where it was the only album to sell over 500k pure copies

Im not even that big of a em stan, but FOR GODS SAKE HE WAS QUOTING TYLER GODAMMIT
ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS IS BI, AND SHE USED TO GET LEGITIMATELY PISSED WITH ME BECAUSE I LISTENED TO TYLER. AND WELL, COMPREHENSEVELY SO. NOW BC OF 2 OR 3 LINES FROM FLOWER BOY EVERYONE FORGOT HOW MUCH TYLER, EARL AND THE GANG USED THE WORD? AND DONT EVEN COME AT ME WITH FUCKING " oh itnwas long ago" 3 YEARS AINT SHIT. Second, eminem said "YOU CALL YOURSELF A F—–". And tyler has used the world to describe himself numerous times, both in his music and in his tt account. Third, he's not using the world to shock value like in SSLP, or for a bigger statement about free sleech like in MMLP, he's using it for a stupid pun just to say what basically is:

Because, with the exception of flower boy (and a small part of the record still has that psychopathic cartoon personalitty), every tyler lp has drinked from eminem and redman's font of horrorcore rap but still listenable. I remember that back in '12 ppl used to say tyker was just hopsin but with better lyrics. These "cringy offensive rap" stereotype is something eminem is trying to escape for YEARS, YEEARS AND EVERYTIME HE MAKES A MORE MATURE ALBUM PPL SAY " OH HE'S RHYMING ABOUT LIFE, DRUG ADDICTIONS, THE PAIN OF LOSING A FRIEND, POLITICS… THATS TRASH, I MISS THE OLD EMINEM". That was the cas with Recovery, an album that has aged amazingky well aside from "love the way you lie" and "not afraid". His previous album was criticized for being "too imature for a guy in his mid 30's" and welk, the record sucjed. In MMLP2 he mixed both styles, and ppl said it sucked, the mature songs suucked, the "offensively funny" ones sucked and the only hits were hype songs for 13 year old cod players, a pop ballad incredibly similar to love the way you lie and a song where he breaks a guiness record.looking back, Its not excellent, but it cemented his return to form. Revival promissed the comeback of offensive political eminem, but what we received was a half assed album that sounded like a 12 year old trying to sound mature.
Eminem career was over the moment cancel culture hit the internet. He cant go for shock rap, nor can he mature. Imo, Kamikaze was great (8/10). 3 lame ass tracks, 1 ok and thats it. Production, great. Eminem sounds passionate about rhyming again and finally we have an lp where he doesnt. Do. That. Staccato. Flow. On. Every. Song. The problem is: Eminem sounds out of touch, because HE IS. HE IS IN HIS 40s. REMEMBER JAY-Z'S "im trying to be relevant" ALBUM? The usage of the slur doesnt add nothing, thats WHY IT WAS CUT OUT OF THE SONG. Its just a quote that deviated to form a stupid pun, and its in 1 song. 1 lyric from one song. Same thing works for Rap God: HE WAS QUOTING HIMSELF, AND GOT CRITICIZED FOR IT.
I know i sound like an eminem stan or a anti gay apologist, but its not the case. I'm just pissed bc hating eminem is now trendy. For years the trend was to worship marshalls balls like he was jesus and since last year the trend is "Eminem never wa good to begin with, fuck him"
