Evan McMillian ft. Pete Lindberg, at the Ohio Bookstore in Cincinnati playing “Paris of America”.

This is our first Discord to YouTube artist pipeline recording on the channel. We have a Discord where we do regular “songwriter nights”. People from all over the world get on and play tunes, talk music and hang out for a couple hours on a random Sunday. It is always fun, and you never know who will be there or who you will meet. Evan is always there. He’d show up, play the most beautiful songs, and then do it again next week. Slowly I learned more about him, and eventually we met up to record some songs. I love Evan’s writing and songs. I also love how he shows up for musicians. Not only on the Discord, but I came to learn he is the dude who just shows up to gigs in Cincinnati. He supports the scene, goes to the show, and is all around a good dude.

We decided to go down to the Ohio bookstore, one of the oldest and definitely the coolest bookstores in Cincinnati. The place was three stories of pure history, and had that smell of old tomes and knowledge. Evan told me about the various authors of old who used to frequent the spot. I tried to get Jim, the owner, to tell us some stories. He declined, as he ain’t much into talking about himself. Super nice old feller though, and his sons run the shop with him. Ohio gets a bad reputation, a recurring topic on this channel. I might just try to keep it that way, because the more people who find out how awesome it is, the more chance it gets gentrified to hell. I love Ohio, long live Ohio.

Pete Lindberg has appeared on the channel a number of times (https://youtu.be/xfZmAOibV8Q), and happened to move to Cincinnati recently. Him and Evan met up to play some tunes together and it was great to get them together for this video.
