So he's technically a nepo baby but only for being in David Copperfield which his Mum cast. He just happened to also be known to other casting people and producers because once your family is in that industry they will probably all know each other. He wasn't hired for nepotism for Harry Potter because, although he got an audition via nepotism the final say on hiring came from someone unrelated to him who didn't stand to gain anything from his parents by hiring him. Like generally when we say nepotism we specifically mean someone who hasn't got the qualifications that is hired because of who they are, which he was kind of hired because of who he was AND because of the qualifications, so like not the same thing.

Nepotism is just an extension of human nature. If people didn't take care for their children then nepotism wouldn't exist in our society.

I used to be a nepo baby twice in my life. My maternal grandfather used to be a tv producer for Nigerian television and my parents used to run a semi-successful heal care company. Sadly, I never got to use any of the advantages due to unfortunate circumstances and lackluster perks. My grandfather died a few months after I was born and was completely detached and forgotten from the entertainment industry. And I was in middle school when my parents company went under. Worse, my dad had to use mine and my sister’s trust funds to get out of debt, so that was disappointing. Nowadays, Im trying to build my own wealth……hopefully someday.

As the daughter of a small company owner, did I get a job? Yes. Was I paid significantly less than any legitimate employee, even once I "earned" a real employee position and not technically an intern? Also yes. Was I treated worse than any other employee cause my parents could get mad at me without consequence? Ding Ding Ding
Moral of the story, being a 'nepo baby' most definitely does not mean you are spoiled or have a great perfect life. Not defending those who follow the nepo baby stereotype tho, those guys suck lol
