I can’t imagine how fucking great it would be if in a year or two they bring Chris Rock back to host, and he just has a fucking ornate shield that he doesn’t mention and just kinda holds up in the general direction of Will Smith.

The thing about snubbing another form of art is that you're qualifying it based on popularity and profitability. Even if a majority of people don't care about those things, that doesn't mean those two classic forms of art are worthless and that's the feeling he gave in his comment. Honestly, he deserves the clap back, it didn't jeopardize his career and people are mostly taking it in stride. It'll just be a stupid thing he said that will embarrass him from time to time. Especially if there's an amazing movie or show about ballet or opera that causes a huge surge in people getting into those forms of art again.

7:53 Guess I'm 1 of the 3, being a former ballerina (along with having studied multiple other styles of dance), and orchestral saxophonist (not the same as being an opera singer, but still relevant as pertaining to the overall appreciation of classical arts). Don't underestimate your audience, Tugg. Your humor and neurosis is entertaining to a broader spectrum of people than you give yourself credit for.
