Laettner wasn't that bad at the time.
His rookie year in 92-93 was arguably his best season as a pro.
Great college player, and still had a long productive career, though it was underwhelming after a great start.

Daily show is targeting a particular generation… if you remember players in that team and the particular vibe of that era then you are from a particular generation of people… Team And1 ushered in a new era of basket ball "attitude/vibe", inspired a new generation and started aging the generation from that dreamteam era… thats the divide imo

Christian Laetner unfairly gets crapped on. Yeah his NBA career was average but at the time he was chosen was arguably the best college player. Played in 4 consecutive Final 4s, two game winning shots against UCONN and Kentucky and a pair of national championships. Jalen Rose said he was a baller when Michigan played them in the regular season and the '92 Final Four. He deserved his spot on the team. Also reunited with Dream Team teammate MJ on the Wizards later in his career.

Lock the treasury and refuse to pay. Let trump know he doesn’t control the purse strings. If Congress doesn’t act the the people will have to just stop paying taxes. They can’t imprison everyone.

"All Agree?" I'll agree they assembled a team of Olympic ringers that proceeded to bully the non-pro national teams they faced in a series of lopsided mismatches. I'll also agree that MJ's son needs some serious counseling.

On the contrary, sending professional athletes to what is supposed to be a competition of amateurs in order to win an easy gold medal is not only the antithesis of what the Olympics are supposed to be, it is also emblematic of the American attitude of always taking the easy way out.

With all this Trump BS, I keep forgetting we're supposed to be celebrating 250 years all year long. I do remember a lot of events throughout the year to celebrate 200 years in 1976.

So it wasn't a joke in the comments. This got to be a joke😂. We was great because our college players would bet professionals. We changed it and we looked weak. He was joking right?

Christian Laettner… Why Laettner and not Shaquille O’Neal or Alonzo Mourning? Shaq was only a sophomore and not yet the established college senior star. Laettner was the most accomplished, polished college player available for the college slot. USA Basketball wanted (and had previously used) a college player slot on Olympic teams.
