The shadowban scandal hit new heights when the Joe rogan trump episode got insane views but never hit trending or was on the front page. Word of mouth only got around in X or if you searched it up.

I also miss the days we had before YT had ads everywhere. I remember when they first started rolling out ads and I hated it. I was in late middle or early high school. Wild times.

Also, I’m not sure how similar this is but showing government ID for age verification isn’t new. The chat site IMVU asked for age verification if you wanted your profile to be “18+” verified. This was years ago. I don’t think it was through a third party, and it was completely voluntary. What’s funny though is that they didn’t question me on my why birthday on my profile didn’t match my ID.

paying for premium still puts a bad taste in my mouth some days because of how viciously they push people toward it. i was fine getting "past" the ads but once they started pausing playlists after three songs or two videos if they were over 20 minutes each, i caved.

i try to reason that i use youtube more than basically any other streaming service out there, a LOT more so it's not a bad trade off to pay for premium, i just wish they weren't dicks about it.

It would still be cool to have some sort of easier way though on Youtube to official react/respond to videos and license it right through Youtube. You can kinda do on it on shorts, but on long forms it's a gamble!

Youtube has become borderline-unwatchable due to ads. Last week I literally got 2 unskippable ads in the middle of a 3-minute music video. Can't even get through a SONG without them.

Fine Bros – also, more than one (now late-teen) kids from Kids React have come out and said that they were coached on what to say and how to "react" and were not allowed to give their real opinions.

One conspiracy i been warning people about, internet companies had been blocking access to certain web pages, because they consider them piracy, by order of big companies (Disney, google, Microsoft, etc). That's illegal and they deny it, but when you try to open a web page and doesn't load, it doesn't always mean that the page is down, it had been blocked by your internet company.
