    Update, 13th April 2021: I've been told that some conspiracy theorists are, bizarrely, circulating this video as fact. To be clear, this is speculative fiction from 2018, part of a sci-fi series on this channel. I thought that'd be obvious, but apparently not. If someone has sent you this video as "factual" or "a plan for the future", then you should know that they're either a) malicious or b) entirely disconnected from reality!

    Anyone here after seeing the government response to the petition against Digital ID? We are getting one step closer to this video not being "a future" but "the future".

    I just got recommended this, and seeing as we also got recommended his prediction about privacy for the future, I feel this will happen in a few years. We live in hell.

    Honestly this would be fascinating, like imagine having a Facebook argument with a conspiracy nut and you're being polite and they're being an ass, and you have their credit score open on another tab and you can see it dropping with every comment they make, but they just can't help themselves because you are baiting them with kindness and facts, and they're getting more and more annoyed and you don't let them have the last word..

    Its crazy that some parts of this video is becoming true. ie the UK government giving personal data to private companies and the UK government discouraging you hiding your data from them.

    The scary thing is how close speculation and satire comes to reality sometimes. Almost like someone sees it and goes "hey that's a great idea" instead of "lets not do that". I hope this stays speculation and never comes true.

    The US gets age checks on here from 13 August according to some tech pages, although which states it'll apply to aren't mentioned. The face scan was initially being considered for minors, but I think companies may change their mind, esp in US, as it could end up a hotbed for court cases. The UK seems to be the test bed for whether the public will accept a face scan, and allow third party companies to deal with such data. It's already had workarounds using Death Stranding's Photo Mode. The US Digital ID Act has been put through the US senate and made public after a supposed leak. It's just a matter of when. Many countries are pushing it. The public biometric security industry is set to make millions
