Although it did receive an Oscar nomination for best screenplay, Young Frankenstein should have received nods for Best Film, Cinematography, Directing and at least one Acting nomination. Just my opinion.

It's gonna funny that Peter Boyle who played the monsters would later go on to do every loves Raymond with Brad Garrett one of my personal picks to actually play the frankenstine monster I honestly think he would be perfect

My favourite bit is the ‘Putting on the Rita’ performance. Or, should I say, ‘Purryaraiit’ performance.

There are so many great scenes in this movie. One of my favorites is when they are at the table and Dr. Frankenstein is down. Then Inga asks why he hasn't touched his food. Then he puts his hands in his food repeatedly. "There I touched it."

I grew up loving Mel Brooks movies in the 1980's to early 90's. The sad thing is, I have shown this movie and his others to friends who were not aware of them and not a single one of them could see the appeal. I still love them as much as I did as a kid but I am always surprised how they just do not click with people that didn't watch them growing up or maybe they are so used to an obvious joke every 30 seconds in a comedy. I did rewatch Spaceballs recently and it has some funny scenes but overall it did not hold up to my memories as a child. Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles are all time classics though. Teri Gar is great in this movie as well and man is she stunning to look at.

All that and not a mention of just how incredibly beautiful Teri Garr was?

Actually, The kid from the Universal films is named Peter. And Gene Wilder's character in this is named Frederick.
