Weed is often seen as harmless, and in some cases, even helpful. But for many people, it can slowly become a serious problem, especially as they approach their twenties or thirties. Today, we take a closer look at how long-term daily use can affect your relationships, motivation, mental health, and life in general. Can it really be used safely? How easy is it for weed to turn into an addiction?

I’ve been addicted for 5 years and just spent the past 9 months in rehab for weed and it was life changing to see the difference. I agree and have felt everything in this video and hope it gets more attention as it’s ridiculously downplayed in society today

I don’t make friends with anyone who takes alcohol , any from of nicotine, any kind of drugs including weed, go to night clubs/bars.
    zero tolerance.

In elementary school, I quit snacks, junk food, and video games. In high school, I quit TV. In university, I quit chocolate and any form of added sugar, and any form of caffeine.

I dated a man who was hiding his substance use, and I cut off him immediately after I found out he occasionally smokes marijuana and drinks alcohol and takes nicotine each weekend.

Anything harmful and addictive, if I say I'll quit, I throw it in the trash immediately

I started smoking when my friend introduced me to weed at 19. Becoming roommates shortly after led to daily smoking, something I’d not been around in my sheltered upbringing.

Now I’m a few days from turning 30, and my 20’s were wasted being stoned all the time. I became content staying home and staring at my phone.

The time moves really quick, and you’ll never say “I should have spent more time stoned and doing nothing productive.”

I smoked weed for 19 years straight—at least 3 fat blunts a day, sometimes more. Living in California, it was everywhere. I’ve been sober now for a year, and honestly, I haven’t thought about it at all. Looking back, I realize how emotionally and physically draining it was.

When I was using, I convinced myself it wasn’t affecting me because I had a good job and my own house—but that was a lie. I was lying to myself. To fully commit to sobriety, I cut everyone out. And I mean everyone—no exceptions. I didn’t go out, I didn’t socialize, and I didn’t make a YouTube video announcing my quitting because I’m not the type to impose my choices on others.

Now, mentally and physically, I absolutely love my life. Sobriety has shown me what freedom and clarity really feel like.

If you want, I can make a video sharing exactly what I did to stay sober and break free from that mental trap. Like this comment, and I will do that for you guys.

I smoked 2-3 grams a day for 7 years from 2018 to 2025, I took my first T break in August 2025, Lasted about a month and some change which was painfully difficult and the withdrawals were unreal for me. Proud of myself for attempting it but I love my Bud too much 😂

2 weeks clean as someone who smoked heavily from 13-29. Watching this to help convince myself to not go pick any up.

Even at 2 weeks I do see the benefits of quitting

Wait but weed isn’t an activity. It’s something you pair with an activity. This is a video about hiding from the world and being a recluse, not smoking weed. Weed has always been an enhancer. You go out and socialize with weed, you dance with weed, you play music with weed and skateboard with weed. It’s not keeping you in, it’s motivating you to go out and do the fun things with weed

It very much depends on your situation. Smoking weed helps me stay away from opiates, which is a much bigger demon of mine. Sometimes you’ve got to weigh the pros and cons of using something and in my personal case, weed very clearly helps me in terms of harm reduction.

I smoke weed every night for a year. Things I noticed since:
    – No dreams when sleeping.
    – Being forgetful.
    – Mood swings.
    – Lost interest in self improvement or stepping up the ladder.

I have every single one of these problems and I stopped smoking weed about 8 years ago.

These issues may be amplified by it, it isn't the sole cause. I can promise you that.
