Scientology recruits people on Hollywood Boulevard, but Aaron Smith Levin says you cannot join at its headquarters in Clearwater, Florida. He tells Danny Jones why local recruitment centers operate differently from the secure facilities that deliver Scientology’s higher-level material. Aaron also describes the approval he says existing members need before visiting Clearwater. Danny presses him on the apparent contradiction: an organization seeking new members has a major base where people cannot simply walk in and sign up.

Aaron connects those restrictions to the atmosphere around Scientology’s buildings in Clearwater. He describes facilities that keep members inside and make it possible for David Miscavige to avoid public view. The discussion follows his account of recruitment on Hollywood Boulevard, where people filming for social media have turned the center into an internet spectacle. He says people outside the building actively discourage visitors from entering, creating another obstacle for recruiters at a location he describes as Scientology’s busiest. His explanation links the public face of recruitment to the security surrounding its senior leadership.

The conversation then turns to Shelly Miscavige. Aaron says he believes he knows where she is and disputes the missing-wife narrative. He gives his interpretation of Leah Remini’s missing-person report and explains how he has used the subject in his videos. Danny also asks about children in the Sea Org. Aaron distinguishes Sea Org members from public Scientologists, discusses the former Cadet Org, and gives his account of the rule against Sea Org members having children. He describes the tension between family life and work demands, then returns to the controlled buildings and transport that he says allow Scientology leaders to remain out of sight.
