World’s Most Hated Status Symbol | Mega Yachts: The Billionaire’s Fortress | ENDEVR Documentary

Since the invasion of Ukraine, at least 13 luxury yachts linked to Russian billionaires—valued between $8 million and $600 million—have been seized. Other oligarchs, such as Alexander Abramov and Roman Abramovich, have moved their vessels to Turkey to evade sanctions. Additional superyachts tied to oligarchs have suddenly “gone dark,” vanishing from global tracking maps by disabling their automatic identification systems.
Yachts have always been the ultimate status symbol, equally coveted and despised. At the annual Monaco Yacht Show, interior designer Sabrina Monteleone-Oeino takes us on a tour of her latest creation. Yet, in a world threatened by global warming, these superyachts consume nearly 500 litres of diesel per hour.
Now, through innovative technology and alternative uses, the yachting industry is attempting to redeem its reputation. Francis Lapp has developed a solar-powered yacht, while other manufacturers are engineering hydrogen-powered engines. In this film, we investigate the changing world of luxury yachting.

Security of private property in the US and the UK are no longer absolute. These seizures of yachts and the freezing of state reserves have permanently altered the perception of global investors regarding "safe havens."Ownership can be frozen even if you have not personally committed a criminal offense. Conclusion: Never invest in U.S and especially in the U.K

Maritime laws are extremely lax compared to laws on land so those on yachts can commit many horrendous crimes without facing the punishments of local governments. Not only that but it's ridiculously easy to just throw all evidence overboard! No one remembers that girl they mysteriously found dead on the yacht deck and no one knows who did it?
