Wolf tries stealing camera

Voyageurs Wolf Project | December 23, 2025



We have had many bears terrorize our trail cameras but we hadnā€™t had a wolf try to do so before but the breeding female of the Windsong Pack thought chewing on our camera would be a bit of fun. She spent 5 whole minutes just chewing and pulling on the camera (we edited the video because we didnā€™t think anyone wanted to watch 5 minutes of this!).

Luckily, she only scratched up the camera a bit. The camera still works like a charm and she left it in a lot better shape than most bears do! She was even kind enough to make sure the camera was still pointing at the road when she was done!

    My fav video of my wildlife camera turned out to be of all things, a robin! Every day he would approach it, tilt his head, look right in the lens. Next day, creep up from a DIFFERENT angle, same thing, every day for weeks, diff approach, diff angle.

    Animals can smell the batteries and that tips them off. When bear hunting; I've had bears tear my cameras off and actually open the battery lid and pull battery ribbon to get them out..
