‘Windows of Opportunity’ to End War in Ukraine, SACEUR Says
NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) General Alexus G. Grynkewich – the alliance’s top military commander – says the alliance should increase support to Ukraine when they’re hit by Russian hybrid attacks. On the “brutal” war, he said there are “windows of opportunity” to bring the conflict to an end and that the alliance should seize them where possible to bring both sides to the table. He made the comments in his first interview with Bloomberg TV’s Oliver Crook in Warsaw on Sunday Oct. 11.

I feel bad for this guy. He obviously can't talk about politics since he'd get axed by Hegseth if he said something bad about Trump. Must be frustrating to have to dance around these types of questions.
But it's also completely understandable that a military guy needs to stick to the military side of things instead of speculating about whatever leaders will do next. Wouldn't be surprised if he's privately appalled by all the BS going on, but the best way to keep things on track is to just focus on his area of expertise. It would be catastrophic if we got someone incompetent as a replacement, so he's doing the right thing.
He seems like a good guy with a solid grasp of the situation and I trust he'll do the right thing if push comes to shove.
Good interview! I hope the general will give more of these as the situation unfolds. It's reassuring to listen to someone who actually knows what they're talking about. (And to counter Russian disinformation campaigns.)

Dismantle NATO which has no purpose after breakup of USSR which is the reason NATO was created. Why do all white dicks in USA Canada and Europe need a combined army ? Isn’t it a power concentration that can cause imbalance of power distribution across a world order that already is too much controlled by west ? This is the military command structure through which NATO's European operations are directed. SACEUR has existed since 1950, with Dwight D. Eisenhower serving as its first Supreme Allied Commander Europe. The position has been held exclusively by American officers ever since.

If you were a "defensive alliance" you wouldn't have orchestrated the Maiden coup which was the trigger for internal Ukrainian conflict from 2014 – 2022 and then the current phase of conflict.
