I once got hit with fees to replace the drip pans under the stove top burners. You know those cheaptastic aluminum pans that no one cleans? Yeah they charged me to replace them.

Oh my god yes the application fees, had to break a lease because one place sucked, left a couch because I just couldn’t get it out and figured screw it they’re keeping the deposit probably anyway, well they kept and put that I owed them $6000 so wasted countless application fees on places that wouldn’t take me because of it

Midwest here. The rental prices are going up and the job opportunities are not. Neither is the pay. Everything is also still so far away that if you don't have a car you can't make it to work and if you do have a car you might not be getting paid enough to maintain it & put gas in it. Suicide rates and addiction rates are through the roof, and it's noticeable. Food deserts and shitty transit to boot. Trust me, it's not as cheap as it seems at first and the places that are… the quality of life reflects it more drastically than you can imagine.

I’m a professional mover at two men and a truck. I’ll admit. There are some scammers out there. But a lot of customers don’t properly prepare to move. They’ll have a few big furniture items and a thousand miscellaneous items they don’t want to deal with. That eats up time tremendously. A lot of people don’t take heed to that. So many things factor into keep your move cheap.

If you hire movers follow these tips.

-keep it just furniture and oversized items.
-do not put books in large boxes.
If it can fit in a car. Just handle it yourself.
-if the movers are slow, immediately call their management
-tip beforehand if possible. (Sound crazy but they work better, especially if they think they’re getting more
-make sure they don’t park on the street if possible. Driveways are always better.

People attribute the hellish terror of apartments to late stage capitalism, but they are really more of a socialist implement. It wasn't until the boom of communism in the early 20th century that they became so popular. Apartments as a concept have existed as long as hotels, however the idea of living a life out of one was popularized by the USSR and China rapidly followed suit. In fact the natural conclusion of capitalism is communism. Political socioeconomics has a process that usually starts in some form of free market democratic Republic, and ends horribly with communist socialism. As we see america in the falling action of its success, and things become increasingly hopeless and miserable for everyone in what is referred to as late stage capitalism, this is due more factually to a transition from capitalism to communism. Hence the apartments and high paying jobs that can't keep up even a little bit with artificially inflated prices. Not that it matters what words we put where, but some people think Marxism will fix our economy but that's naive and foolish. My point is our politics, our dating pool, our social media sights and major media platforms in general, and most threateningly our schools have been inundated by Eastern communists from East Europe and China mostly but also India and the Middle East. This has been a super obvious culprit of the self destructive nature of the modern American young adult and the overall destruction of our politics and economy. Using the internet to brainwash Americans into destroying ourselves. Everything from apartments to school shootings caused by brainwashing over the phone from China and Russia mostly, which are self admittedly America's worst enemies. Despite this racism has "socially pressured" us out of drawing attention to or addressing it. Which is also something they have control of. And it's not a conspiracy theory, they pretty much admit that they're doing this and laugh at us. If you read this and think it's insane, theyre laughing at you right now. And it is funny but also sad america is losing a cold war against communism very badly and everyone is confused as to why even though it's obvious we're all pointing our fingers in the wrong direction. At this point the only way to save ourselves is self control, to stop consuming the poison all around us in our food and entertainment and so on. It's too late for anything else.

My old landlord tried to make me pay for not cleaning up the apartment enough (fridge, sweeping, mopping, etc). The place was spotless when i left. I told her no. And then i didnt.

    Not a very exciting story.

As someone who worked at U-Haul, it was horrible. We would get calls from people that say the other site had reserved them a truck but did not have it. So they come to us and the worst was when other sites make reservations for us, and we had too make it workl. However I worked at a good lot that would do what we couild for people and would waive so many fees just due to the person being stressed.

Here in TN, we have a bunch of redneck Christians with trucks and new housing developments. So we don't need landlords and moving companies… so long as all the californian immigrants don't take over and F— over us like they did to their own state.

Just looked at a dated basement apartment in a decent complex where I live, and when I say dated, the cabinets and stuff were clearly early 90’s. I didn’t mind and actually thought the look was kinda cool. Quoted at 1.3k a month for a 1 bed, 1 bath. Said it was like $900 on their website. I politely told them to duck off.

it's like a barn raising. you don't help them do it because its FUN you do it because youre a community and we should want to help each other. everyones gonna have to move eventually at least once in their life, so we all must suffer through moving jury duty lol. ive never even met someone with enough money to hire a moving company. sometimes you gotta do it without a uhaul and borrow someones pick up and that is by far the worst
