the hollow knight greenpath music ❤
edit: sturgeons still get done dirty, like in river monsters jeremy goes into detail the hate campaigns made by people who were afraid of certain fish and they were mass killed, and the fishing methods are horrendous

A woman I know should be publishing a research paper on shark social behaviours sometime next year or the one after. Since discussing too much can jeopardize her paper I won't go into it too much, but her primary focus was on the social behaviours between sharks in the wild and other species. Her focus was reef sharks, though other species have been studied due to living in the area she was researching, and her dives last I talked to her involved giving belly rubs to each shark in the group as they bumped and tackled her like a pack of excited puppies. Needless to say she's fairly convinced sharks are capable of social behaviours with other species. Though I can't discuss her most interesting findings at this time due to the volatility of the academic sphere and to avoid risking her future funding. I hope research like hers and many others into sharks and their less violent behaviours help encourage more people to want to protect and live alongside these animals. They're very much like dogs, and I almost feel that goes as far as the danger they represent to humans, I wouldn't be surprised if the percentage of shark encounters resulting in an attack wasn't dissimilar to the percentage of dog encounters resulting in an attack. Which is to say very low yet just high enough that it makes sense people would be occasionally weary of them.

Dolphins are waaaaaay more dangerous than sharks will ever be. With sharks all you gotta worry about is one of them mistaking you for food. Humans are large enough that, unless you look like something they eat, they’ll avoid actually attacking you. Most predators are like this to an extent since attacking something that’s not food takes energy that they might not get back if you end up either getting away or driving them off. On top of that they’re risking injury. So, yeah, most predators won’t attack unless threatened. Herbivores on the other hand… 😅
