Why The Most Dangerous Men Were Terrifed Of Griselda Blanco

Weird History | July 27, 2026

Most people picture gangsters as powerful men in sharp suits, surrounded by cigar smoke, luxury, and violence. But one of the most feared crime bosses in history was a woman… and she was so ruthless that even Pablo Escobar was afraid of her.

On this episode of Weird History, we examine the shocking true story of the infamous “Queen of Cocaine,” her rise to power, her brutal empire, and the legacy that made her one of the most dangerous figures in organized crime history.

Are you impressed that a woman could be such a powerful gangster? Let us know in the comments.

(Much like real history, this video was made entirely by human beings.)

Imagine what she could have done if she'd been given a good start in life. Not a rich one, but a moral one with a good enough education. She could have been a top businesswoman. It's sad that she was almost inevitably going to end up in this way.

Gotta appreciate the full circle back with her karma. How ironic is it that she was taken out with the same assassination method she allegedly came up with?!😅 It also never fails to amaze me to see how often those who are considered the "big bads" of their areas have those empty soulless eyes with less warmth than a literal damm snake! 😂😅

That's good also thought of her as picture Tony Montana only way more unhinged and a female. Though if that gangster met her he'd freak and also speaking of the Miami drug war of the 1970's and 80s can do one on the Hotel Mutiny the most infamous place ever where those drug dealers really partied in Florida.

Back when we had cable TV this is before the Advent of streaming in college I watched gangsters most evil and Griselda Blanca that story was crazy. And I remember her only kidding 12 years and then getting deported and this is just before she was finally killed. And I remember the renewed interest with the Netflix series dropped and I'm like I knew about this icon before she became a Netflix starling

Pathetic, a horror, and sad when the only way a woman can be in control of her destiny is to be part of a kidnapping gang and/or to hire hit men whenever needed to remain on top of their welfare and the welfare of her children.
