They showed us Shrek multiple times in 6th grade. Everyone loved it, and I remember thinking we were getting away with something, being allowed to watch something with that edge in elementary school.

Ha! Never noticed the Farquaad (f__wad) joke before! Then again, I was 7 when it came out. I’ve seen it more times than I care to imagine and have never realised loads of these things!
I mean, even as a kid I knew it was a pisstake about fairytales and parody of traditional Disney stuff etc. but so much of this went over my head!

0:15 what Mike Myers has done to his face is far scarier than what Shrek will ever look like (they’ve changed his face pretty drastically, I think the term might be ‘feminised’ it?).

It's crazy I found a VHS Shrek and a four movie dvd pack that takes up about the same amount of shelf space. Just noting how media has godsend more compact now dvds take up space compared to a terabyte external HDD that can store how many movies take up less space then one dvd box..

They are now own by Universal you know the studio that Walt Disney himself use to work and Disney and Universal are known to be enemies and with DreamWorks also hating Disney i think they are in the right hands

as a Jeff Buckley superfan… the Buckley version is not in the movie. it’s the John Cale version. the Rufus Wainright version is on the soundtrack bc of copyright reasons.
