Why is the Gospel of Thomas Not in the Bible?

   Try this prophecy out… The Euphrates Rivers going to dry up at the sixth angel, Euphrates is estimated to dry up in the year 2040. We are close…. When Christ says there are some here that will not taste death he's talking about the second death and that they will be in heaven. Jesus said I AM HE (I AM GOD). Most likely.

   A year too late…., but I would argue that Thomas was called the twin because he was the scribe among Jesus's close followers. we know he was possibly a tax collector or from a similar middle glass background, which meant he was educated and could write. it would also make sense that the rabbi Jesus would possibly want his teachings written down (even if he did believe the end was imminent).

   The Thomas/Jesus' twin hypothesis always makes me think of Philip Pullman's 'The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ'.

   Both things can be true with Thomas resembling Jesus in physical appearance and also be a devout follower and preacher of Jesus essentially twinning His 'message' simultaneously looking like Him

   Would someone invent time travel already so we can just settle this never ending debate and speculation on the whole God thing that result in forever wars and such

   The separation isn't meant physically. It's meant energetically. As in the seventh hermetic principle of gender.

    It was most likely a nickname given to Thomas. He probably looked very similar to Jesus which is the reason they would call him "the twin" since he looked so similar to their Messiah. Nothing in any Gospel contradicts the single virgin birth of Jesus. These guys are reaching…. The simplest of explanations are usually correct.

    Although Jesus may have been a real person his life story is an allegory of the sun. Jesus is the son(sun) of god with 12 disciples(zodiac signs). Thomas meaning twin is the zodiac sign gemini the twins. The last day of gemini season is the summer solstice which is the longest day and shortest night, the suns highest point in the sky annually (first day of summer) and daily (noon) the 12th hour. So the gospel of thomas is a solar symbology of the sun at its peak height and light as in fullness (transfiguration). The ocean rises and falls as each and every wave but the ocean never appears nor disappears. You are the immortal being in a mortal body. That is the salvation of Eternal Life. Exodus 3:14 Moses asks god who are you? God says I AM who I AM. This is what you are to say to the isrealites I AM has sent me to you. Who sent moses to the isrealites? God. And who is god. I AM! God means existence and existence means all that exists. Its impossible to exist as anyone other than god, the One and only One who is, as I AM who I AM! Christ is crucified at golgatha the skull in hebrew. Touch the sides of your head. Why do you think they are called your temples? Because you are the Living God almighty dwelling in the temple. And everybody is pissing in their pants laughing at you because you think this is a real story. Jesus was a real person, but his life story is the allegory of the sun. Life is who you are as I AM. The holy bible is the story of life as your story, your autobiography. Jesus was not only a person but the pattern of Life living in and as all. God bless and i love you all. There is only One Life.     Not sure if you mention this in the podcast but Thomas's Gospel also says that Jesus says to follow James (Jesus brother) when he's gone, so I assume that would mean not to follow Paul/Saul of Tarsus. How very different would Christianity look if that had happened?… I wonder if that's why the Gospel of Thomas was repressed? Paul who never met Christ but declared himself an apostle & is the one who says the whole bible is infallible (conviently including his own 'gospel') and is the source of the handful of toxic (& counter-Christs message) passages in the new testament that 'Christian' nationalism & authoritarian 'Christianity' justifies itself on.

    The good things that Jesus said were said by others before. His original sayings are generally bad advise. Firgiving someone seven times seventy is just being takwn advantage of and enabling. Not washing your hands because only what comes out of your mouth can hurt you is just ignorant. Turn the other cheek. Who does that?

    1:19:00 It's worth noting that unlike with the Gospel of Thomas, scholars have decent reason to believe the Fourth Gospel is actually written by its purported author. We have plenty of early Christian sources naming John the Apostle as its author, such as the late 2nd Century writers Clement of Alexandria, Origen, and Irenaeus. C.E. Hill argues that Papias, an early Christian writer who knew John the Apostle personally, is behind this tradition. Unfortunately, this cannot be conclusive since Papias's writings are only extant through quotation.

    Isn't gospel of Thomas reiterated in other gospels (like he says) and has a few weird things in there that appears no where else ? I love Thomas but it's just repeated elsewhere mostly. So you think the stuff in Thomas this is not in the Bible is important ?
