One of the other ludicrous aspects of this conflict is that Trump chose to do it at this time, he could have waited 6 months till Venezuela was producing more oil (the right type), more nuclear upgrades and recommissioning had happened, more renewable sources online and generally less stress on the system.
It would not have been difficult to manage this situation better, but…. Trump
