I HATE whispering! There’s an ad I get frequently when I listen to podcasts where they’re trying to do an asmr bit but I just have to throw my headphones off in rage because it upsets me so much when someone whispers in my ear

asmr pisses me off. it's like nails on chalkboards. the worst is when people do eating videos, and they have the mic taped to their throats. so you can hear all mouth noises. nope that drives me insane.

Certain ASMR videos do work for me, but I cannot think of any sound I would rather have in my ear less than the sound of someone loudly chewing fast food. I would punch my way out of a crowded room to get away from that sound.

I used to get tingling so intense it was like my scalp was vibrating. Drove me nuts wondering what it was until I discovered asmr. Now I only feel it a bit if something hits my ears just right but listen to it every night now and prefer higher production roleplay sorts of things. Freds Voice does a lot of unique ideas and Sleepy Keys asmr who does like low fi 90s QVC and public access sorts of videos. Goodnight Moon and Moonlight Cottage for historical and fantasy subjects, French Whisperer for historical lectures and Phonecian Sailor who does sort of darker subjects in asmr.

The sound of squeaking styrofoam makes me want to run out in the streets in a fit of blind rage and flip a stroller over, kick its contents, then run straight into the ocean to end myself.

You might really like "unintentional medical ASMR" There are loads of medical training videos where doctors will demonstrate various checkup procedures and it taps right into that relaxing feeling you get whenever you go to the doctor. Because they're official training videos it also means there's none of the weird overtones that were in a lot of these ASMR videos
