I haven’t gotten through the whole video yet, but as an 22 year old , black , and Mississippi native. Where should I start with pro black thought information? I really wanna get to know more about this topic.

There was a statistics major who recently did a study on the desparity of quality between colored and women characters on the Artfight site, and while the study itself was flawed and amature in some ways, it shed a lot of light on how biased the art community still is toward white men, regardless of the artist's background. Until then, I felt like I had to avoid having too many black people in anything I make and seeming anti white or anti something. But I and also others who saw that study realized that we're basically trying to operate as if the system is balanced, and bending over backwards to accomodate a demographic that is already favored and given more attention.

We still need black and women diversity, we still need black normalization, they are STILL unerappreciated and grossly dehumanized by the majority especially on a subconsious level. Showing love to blackness isn't gonna hurt anyone. People just keep conflating the love for black people with the hate for white people

Sterling K. Brown has played (at least, that I know of) TWO roles in non-Black TV shows, where he was married to a black woman.
He's spoken publicly about this, and I'm pretty sure it's why in Paradise, he's married to a dark skinned black woman, they have a beautiful family, it's great.

I am the whitest human out, but my husband is Palestinian. I see the way people treat him here in Australian and it is not equal. My husband speaks better English than I do, yet people act like he is an inconvenience when he asks for something. I, often, find myself talking on behalf of him because it's just "easier". Please tell me why people look at me like I'm a fkn hostage sometime when we're out together. My husband is the sweetest, kindest and most beautiful man I have ever met. I am proud of my husband's culture, I love cooking the food he grew up with and learning about the history of his family and culture. I would love to live in a world where we all and learn from each other ❤

I can imagine it's psychological warfare to be in any relationship where the outside world is constantly judging your motivations based the physical features of the people involved…

Black people are a numerical minority. We are not the dominant culture. We are only 15% of the U.S. population
We do not control the narrative, we have more to lose when it comes to White Supremacy and it's impact on social relations.

fetishizing out of of some sort of low self esteem is what i see. i'm in a interracial marriage, mixed kids and i travel to south america back to her home, everyone was cool surrounded by people of another race i was made felt welcome and part of their family. just like my wife is with my family in europe. i see the hysterical gate keeping in america which i can only put down to the rotting foundations on which it was built. europe has racism yes…but from my experience the divivions dosn;t get the same promotiion. in america it's like sports or entertainment. for me people need to mind their business and let people be happy…or miserable whatever they are keep their big noses out of it. one small point that bugs me is the US centric way americans desribe "White People" or "Black People" they almost exclusively mean White Americans and Black americans…no offence but i don't want to associated with what you constantly describe as "white" or "white people" especially as my "whiteness" is the least important part about me. i don't care about it. i was born this way, i feel neither guilt nor pride in the same way as i being right handed it's just what i am. i am proud of my culture which to me is separated from my race, i appreciate that is different in america fro historical reasons (rotting foundations i mentioned earlier) i can't speak for what non american black people feel

I used to date black men, and only really black men. I wasn’t raised to realize the differences between the races. I just thought only white racists were against race mixing. And I thought, and still think, black people are beautiful and I admire them and their culture. It was heartbreaking to me as an adult to learn the actual differences between the races that do exist. I was raised to think black people are people just like me but with a different skin color, and I still think that obviously, but now I’m more aware of how society forces us into roles we don’t want to be in. Now I only date white guys and it’s ultimately because I don’t want to make any black women feel upset. But the thing is that I get called racist for saying that too. As a white person I’ve learned that I’m very ignorant and privileged and there’s nothing that I can do to distance myself from my whiteness, so it’s best if I just stick to being white and keep my mouth shut. I truly feel bad for black women who have been made to feel like their beauty isn’t as valued as it should be under a white supremacist Eurocentric societal standard. But I’m not lying when I say white people are the most bland and boring a dorky looking people to my mind and I truly wish I was a woman of color. Maybe that’s just because I’m fetishizing people of color and I find their exoticness enticing, I personally don’t think that’s the case, but like I said I’m white so I’m very ignorant and don’t get the final say on any of this.

The fetishization of having “mixed babies” plays into this issue as well. There has been a disturbing rhetoric about specifically getting with black men to have “pretty babies”
