Today, the Olympics still brings countries of the world together in the spirit of healthy competition, many of whom are not friendly with one another anywhere else. Why do we love sports so much that we’re willing to put aside even our most extreme differences to participate in them? Maybe it’s because we want to feel the highs of winning without the fear of the consequences of losing. When the soldiers played against each other, they could get excited over the potential of winning, without worrying about what would happen to them if they didn’t.

Now I feel like I understand little bit that, why I feel so sad when RCB loses, but still I support RCB in ipl even though they haven't won single title in 16 seasons, I hope they will win atleast one 😶‍🌫

Got my favorite basketball team as my pfp been a fan of the kings since I was a little kid and for 16 long years I stayed loyal and finally we're gonna make the playoffs after years and years of trash I could've switched teams easily but I didn't I've always loved this team for some reason 🙌😂💀

I am so over it with these people that said liking sport is about "bread and circuses". Eastern Roman Emperor Justinian almost lost his life because of a chariot race gone wild that kicked a revolt that burned the biggest church of Constantinople before the Hagia Sophia was built. Honduras and Guatemala went to war against each other after an extremely heated football match. There are easier ways to keep people docile, like repression and cutting them from higher education.

Failed to mention: sports are a voluntary attempt to overcome unnecessary obstacles. In the greater game of life where the rules are vague and without a manual, people seek refuge in sports to receive immediate and understandable rewards. BIRGing and CORFing are at the heart of sports. VSauce has an episode on it.

I must share my two greatest sports memory which gave me probably the greatest feeling for a very long time.. many days I was so happy!!! lol..

    2. Max Verstappen & Red Bull winning the F1 championship in the 2021-2022 season.
    1. Lionel Messi & Argentina winning the Copa America tournament.

Was going to type details of these.. with the history and my perspective etc.. but that is too much lol.. those who know.. know!

Science and music also bring disparate people together. Look at the long history of US and Russian cooperation at the ISS, or cooperation between Chinese and western paleontologists. Black and while people playing together in bands has been happening for the last 80 years.

No wonder game tournaments are called eSports too, no physical activities but the viewers get the same high when teams win/players make crazy plays.

The modern-day sports era is like the gladiator sports where you had the high riser's boxes where have the stadium style who it is built from the ground up and we have the sport teams owners looking down upon the Israelite man killing each other breaking each other bones trying take each other out while you entertain Massa and his buddies, and we get crumbs man
