You are missing the main point !! Deepseek did not get close to what we are doing all they did was finetone with quarrying GPT-4. There were many papers saying this can be done. Building AGI we will need all the compute we can get, and deepseek has no clue how to do that, essentially you can say all they did was copy what we did

Question: Do I trust Elon Musk and his big data center or do I trust China with a knock-off result created by older chips (AND we can't exclude China's value in making valuable news). I choose Elon and will say "good for you China", now try to keep it going when the newer chips are not available. The future is obvious although I can't read the future yet and I don't think anyone can. As far as the future of AI – we simply have to have some trust in people like Elon and the US to do the right thing. We are stepping out into the unknown.

I agree with Tom it is good that the big data centers with more computer chips working on the issues at hand and in the future, are beneficial. After all we don't know the future yet. We don't have a crystal ball. However I do know that some advancements will see easier and cheaper ways to do things as we progress down this amazingly exciting venture. We need more tech because it makes our lives better in the end.

This silly clock thing is useless. There’s never been an actual nuclear war, so they are just listing a bunch of crap they don’t like so maybe someone will actually pay attention. We could be 1 sec or 1 hr. Nobody really knows and it honestly makes no difference.

I am a CONCIOUS player ( ie: I KNOW I am playing the game and CHOOSE to consciously play.) . And choose to be anonymous. Nothing like the element of surprise, to unhinge your opponent. Hypothetical – this world is a simulation – the game of LIFE. Basic quantum physics. The game of DUALITY. You have to conquer duality and learn your lessons about what REALLY MATTERS – UNITY in ALL things, between people, the animal kingdom, etc. ( Duality to UNITY.)
