I think the Duffer Brothers set out to write a really cool 80s nostalgia series and along the way ended up writing an awesome sci-fi series instead. But when it came time to write the finale, they stuck with the 80s nostalgia rather than the sci-fi

Why didn't they hire a competent writer? How could anybody start filming the final season of the world famous and beloved show without a finished script? I can imagine how people change the script while filming. But not having the script at all – is insane. And again, I understand how one can be exhausted after a very hard work (which Duffer brothers actually did in the 4th season), but why, just why they didn't hire a person from outside? David Koepp could handle it perfectly

Gen Z needs to relax. Anyone who's lived through the eighties gets it: the plot holes, the blind spots are all consistent with the happy go lucky ethos of that cinematic era. Watch the Goonies, Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters and you're bound to find 'faults', the attitude of the time was to be fun and frivolous with high concept stories, did they hold up under obsessive scrutiny? No. But we didn't care because it didn't matter. We revelled in the joyousness and silliness of the film and I must say there's something a bit sad about this masochistic need to go through everything with such a fine tooth comb for literally no reason. What does it achieve? Lighten up guys.
