You had to have been there at the time. Watching this and before you mentioned anything else, I was saying wherever divine styler got his from, is where house of pain got it from.

Thats a fantastic topic 🙂 A sound I would really love to know where its from is in "Fight the power" from PE. That echoing/pulsating kind of sonar sound after the intro and thruout the beat. PE songs are so incredible.
I remember when I heard 'Night of the living baseheads" for the first time. Didn't knew that JBs song at that time and thought PE sampled a car horn 🙂

It's whatever Everlast said it is..
Ain't Sayin' Nothing by Divine Styler… which sampled Shoot Your Shot.

The intro is basically a less toxic version of the squeal's WhoSampled page comments… 😭😭

I thought the Horse sound came from Mel & Tim's Good Guys Only Win In The Movies?
@julestheraccoon

The horse sample just reminds me of "Frontier Psychiatrist" by The Avalanches

The grit comes from the E‑mu SP‑1200, 12-bit, 26 Hz at its maximum sample rate.

Nah bruh. I’ve loved your channel for a long time and I understand you’re trying to promote your radio thing but wtf. I watched this whole thing just for you to say you won’t tell us unless we listen to the radio episode?! Not cool. House of pain is a sax and cypress hill is a horse.

Tell me the horse loose in the hospital guess was not a Kool Keith reference.

Funnily enough DJ Muggs actually sampled "Gett Off" for "Throw Your Hands Up" by The Whooliganz
@MDMvision

should have added Balloon to the list, for real. I always thought it was a balloon, but now I think it's a sax.

October 17, 2026 at 5:45 am
It's a piece of shit.
From a crap song. And it greatly helped to ruin the 90s.
@johanm6550
October 17, 2026 at 5:45 am
come on. House of Pain was kind of Irish, so the sound is from a Irish Bagpipe. simple as that

@methamphetamelon

Produced by… Ice Cube
