Different cultures and subcultures have vastly different and often contradicting ideas of what constitutes good or meaningful art. Even within our cosmopolitan society today, there clearly exists different ideologies as to what is and isn’t artistic. Who are we to say what art is and what isn’t?

    I hate my art class because they teach you that art is just putting colors on a canvas and when I make a art peace without her rules it was marked wrong and when I protested that art is not just that but it is way more I failed that class but I'm happy because how they teach art is wrong art is way more than that

    If we look at Maurizio Cattelan's works before 'Comedian,' the aspect of humor, mockery, and questioning common values is one of the most important features of his art.So, the most important aspect of this work could be that, and this time it's not with typical sculptures, but an onslaught with an idea, which is the most important aspect of this piece.

    Art – An entity wants to show off something it created. Trying to give it any other meaning is an exercise in futility.

    And others debate forever what it actually means sometimes assigning attributes that the creator(s) never intended even in their wildest dreams.

    That's why I never pursued any art degree, it's too fuzzy in nature, no concrete foundation and open to interpretation. I don't like that

    Art is beauty and mastery—it demands technique, understanding, and sensitivity to transcend time. It doesn’t depend on museums; they exist because art justifies them. It communicates, suggests, and challenges without fully revealing itself. It is human but not ideological, nor does it serve agendas. It embodies the highest expressions of the spirit and the darkest depths of the soul. But only when it is true art. If it’s not, no amount of exhibitions or critical acclaim will make it so. Genuine art needs no translators; it connects without interpreters.

    Not “everything” is art, but anything that was created by someone with the intent of self expression through a medium is art. When someone says art is subjective they’re not saying all art is equally “good”, it just means that part of it’s value is up for interpretation.

    Now, wether it’s good or bad art is a different matter altogether. That will depend largely on the consensus or standards that have been largely determined by using subjective criteria. The individual has to choose if he values his own appreciation more, or the one determined by the overall consensus.

    I think too many people confuse analyzing art objectively as using the standards that are socially/culturally accepted, but like I said, they are still based on subjective criteria, they just became more widely accepted. If it was objective, those standards would be inmutable and would not change like they actually do. (Look at Van Gogh for example)

    An objective (and descriptive) statement valuing and artwork would be:
    – This painting is set on a 100x100cm canvas
    – This book contains 300 pages
    – This song lasts for 3 minutes.

    Art can be evaluated subjectively and objectively. But the moment you try to classify a style, genre or medium as better than another, then you are doing it subjectively.

    I think everything is art. On its own, objects are just objects but what makes it art is the interaction and thoughts that a human has; they put meaning on what is thus making art.

    "Who are we to say they are wrong"
    The answer is simple, everyone else, the vast majority disagrees with you. That is the meaning of "wrong" in a social sense. That logic goes with everything. Science, politics, art, rules etc. Your opinion will stay wrong, until it isn't. Even if your opinion is in a "objective manor" correct, you're still wrong. Because we will never know a objective truth. And if society disagrees with you, you are wrong.

    Nowadays everything is called art and that's not true, most people who considers them artists are acturally illustrators, designers, concept artists, vfx arists, 3d artists, muralists, mangakas…

    Don't take me wrong, im not saying they are not great or that is bad that exists artistic oriented jobs, but that's not art.

    True art can be anything made by any source or technique by anyone or anything as long as it meets the following checks:

    – True art has no other purpose than the artistic expression itself, if you do it for money is a product, if you do it for likes is a tool, if you do it for social critique is a banner.

    – True art transmits a question, never an answer.

    – True art is unnapollagetic, there is no room for political correcnes or social politeness.

    – True art has some kind of depth even if not apparently, without depth or meaning is a doodle.

    – True art has no firm or sign, the artist must never be more important than the art.

    Of course this is what i think about it, maybe someone will think the same, lastly i want to clarify again that even if you are not an artist (accordint to the points i mentioned) doesn't mean that you are not great, practically every movie and videogame won't met the requirements and thus can captivate people, just don't lie to yourself and the others.

    When we ask, "What is art?"or say, "Anything is music!", the discussion is generally a lot of modernist rhetorical drivel designed to defend the untalented artist or musician's work.
    The question that leads us in the right direction is: "Why art?" "Why music?"
    If you compose music because you want to show how successfully you can "innovate" and reject anything that might meaningfully engage our imagination and emotions, I believe you need to rethink the "why".

    Visual art is the pictorial exploration of pictorial conditions. What of art like so-called performance art etc.? Art is the media exploration of media conditions. Whatever the method, the method's conditions are explored in some way.

    A banana duct tapes to a wall, can be art it depended the comcept .however it can just be a banana duct taped to a wal then it's not art and i'm right so dont question me ! Im right

    The first image in the video of the wize old owl was a silhouette of a crow. Did AI make a mistake? Was that art? If someone enjoys it & wants to buy it that's ok. But is it art? I prefer a human hand involved. I'm I discriminating agents AI? Is AI's feelings hurt?

    Regarding the fable. It is human art, for it uses human values to create the story, uses human symbols (Owl = wisdom) to reflect the meanings, but also it is art only because can be appreciated by a human being, just like the rock we were talking about. Art is not the ultimate concept. A pufferfish for which a love letter is a pattern on sand would not appreciate it.

    Art is a living creature that makes us smarter. More open to receive life. Thus, we all have art inside. We are all contributing to art. If art elevates life in you, it's the best-selling art.❤

    What is the deference between humans and comiters? Nothing we have some human as smart as Newton, Einstein, etc. And stupid himan as me and many people you see in the street
    We have dumb compuers as a microwave circet board and smart computers like ChatGPT (I know chat gpt is not a computer but when I said Newton I didn't say Newton mind or thoughts, so we can call chatGPT a computer!)
    Human is a biological computer installed on a biological robot called body
