What If We Had Working Quantum Computers Today?

What If | January 2, 2026

Get rid of your old computers, because the future of technology has arrived! It’s not artificial intelligence or virtual reality; it’s something called quantum computing! And it could completely revolutionize every aspect of our society, from healthcare to finance, and even national security. But how does it work?
When can we expect it? And what could happen if it gets into the wrong hands?

“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it, we go nowhere.” — Carl Sagan

What If is a mini-documentary web series that takes you on an epic journey through hypothetical worlds and possibilities. Join us on an imaginary adventure — grounded in scientific theory — through time, space and chance, as we ask what if some of the most fundamental aspects of our existence were different.

Thanks for the analysis! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). What's the best way to send them to Binance?

I think Artificial intelligence technology working with quantum computers can be very important to change our future so that with the help of AI technology our species can survive regularly in space.

Love the video. Thanks. Now two things: We already know what's happening to our atmosphere and how to mitigate climate change. It's so obvious we don't need quantum computers for that. And number two: There are no good guys, at best there's bad guys and worst guys. National Security and the DOD don't need more secrecy, they're already coimitting war crimes around the world and spying on American citizens and citizens of many other countries. Can you imagine what they'd do with quantum computers? It's a horrifying thought. Aside from that, it's such an exciting idea and if it were to be used for good it's going to be amazing for medical science. Especially in countries where people have access to medical attention free at the point of service. Like Canada, England, France and countless others.

What if we created a simulation of where the world will be in 200 years if we stay on our current trajectory…….we could literally look into the future!! Also it will be imperative to avoid these computers getting into the hands of a tyrannical despot.
