The problem is not that a Big Crunch is impossible. The problem is that this video stacks speculation upon speculation until it sounds like an established scientific prediction.

DESI has not discovered that dark energy will disappear and gravity will pull the universe back together. It has found tentative, model-dependent hints that dark energy may evolve. The claim that the universe has a 33-billion-year lifespan comes from one particular theoretical model that assumes an underlying negative cosmological constant. That assumption was not measured directly.

The video then makes several additional leaps. Evolving dark energy does not automatically mean a Big Crunch. A Big Crunch does not automatically produce a Big Bounce. A Big Bounce would not automatically recreate the same galaxies, Earth, people, or YouTube videos. The universe would also not collapse toward a central location, because the universe has no physical center.

So the idea that you may have watched this video 100 billion times is not a conclusion produced by the DESI data. It is science fiction created by taking one uncertain observational hint, selecting one speculative model, and piling several unsupported assumptions on top of it.

Interesting idea? Absolutely.

Evidence that reality endlessly recreates the same version of you? Not even close.
