Weâre midwesternersâŚ
up here in northern Wisconsin it gets so cold sometimes ice becomes sticky instead of slippery.
We keep extra sets of outerwear in our cars and trucks so that inevitably when we end up in a ditch or our car breaks down, we donât freeze to death.
We all have stories about the â big blizzard â. ( for me it is 39 inches of snow in 36 hours.

I landed in MSP in Feb once, and the air temp was zero. It felt like if I stopped walking in the jetway for 1 second, I would freeze solid.

As a fellow Midwesterner from Central IL, I can relate to all of this! One other thing should be added. We're Midwesterners. We do stupid stops in the middle of the road, in order to make sure we're going the right way. My mom, my dad, and I were headed back from a tractor show in IN, and by this point, we've blown two tires on the trailer, and we're limping it on 3 tires. We get to a small town about 20 minutes from my house, and we're behind a person, who was either not from the Midwest, or was, but wasn't sure where they were going. They start to turn right, but then go straight for like 20 feet, and then they turn a bit again, then just end up pulling over in the elevator parking lot. We also don't understand farm semis…. I have a video up, that has a driving lesson for what to do when you encounter a semi with a grain trailer, that's fully loaded. The car stops at the line, the semi is taking up both lanes, in order to turn, and the other car is stopped at the line. Well, the little red car, which is in the way of the semi, is turning to the left, which happens to be the way the semi is coming from. The red car pulls out like 15 feet, and then the car ends up going almost into the ditch on the opposite side of the semi, so he can turn, and then proceedsđ

Every time I hear Charlie say "blinker" (vs. "turn signal"), my left eye twitches slightly. I was born/ raised in the Chicago 'burbs and was taught to say "turn signal;" my husband was born/ raised in West MI and did say "blinker," but picked up "turn signal," due to hearing my use of it.
We moved to WI this past summer. Giving this issue a bit more thought, I now am thinking that I should start, and my hubby should revert back, to calling it a "blinker." And, then… I finish watching the video to hear Charlie's "FIB" joke and my left eye's back to twitching. đ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Ł

I should do a "We're Southern Californians" video!!
–We put jackets on when it's below 70 degrees
–We automatically add an hour to our commute for traffic
–Rain actually makes the news here
–We speak a bit of Spanish, even though we took French in school

I know Colorado isn't the Midwest, but I SWEAR when it's -4 and no wind, it feels warmer than 45 degrees in Texas but windy.
