We Sat AOC Down With Republican Voters. Can She Win Them Over?

More Perfect Union | June 16, 2026

We brought AOC to deep red Georgia to talk data centers.

We found a data center rebellion, with people willing to radically shift their politics.

One conservative voter said: “If there’s a chance that anything can be done, I feel like she’s gonna be the one to do it.”

More Perfect Union is an Emmy-winning, nonprofit newsroom whose mission is to build power for working people. Here’s what that means: We report on the real struggles and challenges of the working class from a working-class perspective. We attempt to connect those problems to potential solutions. We report on the abuses and wrongdoing of corporate power. And we seek to hold accountable the ultra-rich who have too much power over America’s political and economic systems.

Forcing these Data Centers to filter and reuse the water to cool instead of releasing it back into our water source and forcing these Data Centers to use Clean Energy to power up these centers is a start to not overwhelm the power grids and Not force the constituents to foot the bill and leave a cleaner footprint on Earth

People are being lied to, this video included. Data centers are needed, any large construction requires explosions, new homes are built with substandard regulations. All these things are true.
And, for real, how is the data center affecting water quality or water pressure before it's built? That is not how things work.

The purpose of theses data center Data centers as I understand it is to support AI. The purpose of AI is to replace people. So how does it make sense to support DATA centers.

If these people spoke to AOC on every issue, I’m sure they would agree. It’s right wing media that’s polluting their minds as they only care about big business and the rich.

They are more afraid of siding with a democrat that can help more, because the MAGA is strong in those communities that they will stick with a lying Republicans knotting that they're lying before they get called traitors in their community.

It’s funny how they start to care WHEN IT DIRECTLY AFFECTS THEM. Yet their vote placed us here and now what. You are swimming and drinking in sh!t. What do you think the left fights for… Did he think they were anti-slavery and minority only. Im sure he would blame blacks and immigrants if he could. Smh. I cant figure which end these ppl think out of because both ends are layered with ignorance and labels.

Looks like she found her voice. It would have been better if she let Amazon build a process ing center in her discrite. Then she would have more skin in the game to demand from Amazon. These Giant centers have a lot of problems that smaller ones don't have. If a big one goes down nothing is working more small ones soles that problem. Small centers need jobs for each one. A giant center needs less. Small centers spread the power load easier and give water less strain. But always in the US, bigger is better.
