We went out with @accordingtothekid to ask commuters, including Cuomo, Sliwa, and Trump voters what they think of free transit.

Wth should people who don't use the bus have to pay for the bus though? If those people can afford 700 MILLION dollars, why don't they simply buy a car? Or move somewhere that isn't such a crappy place to live?

Why is "the rich will leave" a bad thing? When was the last time the wealthiest new yorkers paid to construct a school or a hospital? How about public transport? This guy is riding a ferry paid for by taxes and is wondering where the money is gonna come from.

This touches on the famous quote by Thatcher: "The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money." Unfortunately, there is no one-fits-all solution to fix income inequality. Without companies and corporations, there are no jobs. And without jobs, people don't contribute taxes. Without taxes, municipalities go downhill. And without incentive, you kill the human spirit of ingenuity and competition, and people stop creating companies. There are plenty of textbook real-life case studies of these systems failing all over the world. I don't understand why it's still seen as a solution.
