We Chased Driverless Trucks In Texas. What We Saw Will Scare You.

More Perfect Union | September 19, 2025

Truck driving used to be a solid middle-class job. Not anymore. Driverless trucks just hit the highway in Texas. It’s displacing truck drivers. And truckers warn, “your job could be next.”

More Perfect Union’s mission is to build power for working people. Here’s what that means:

We report on the real struggles and challenges of the working class from a working-class perspective, and we attempt to connect those problems to potential solutions.

We report on the abuses and wrongdoing of corporate power, and we seek to hold accountable the ultra-rich who have too much power over America’s political and economic systems.

What about Weather Conditions in, say…
    Windy Kansas,
    Snowy Colorado,
    Icy Iowa and Illinois?
The Truck Co will blame the Software Co, the Software Co will blame the Trucking Co Equipment/Maintenance and the river of splattered and crushed motorists left in the wake will end up with nothing they can do about it and nowhere to go until the bigger battle gets settled… DECADES down the road.

Automated trucks can’t replace skill. They test these trucks out in perfect weather conditions. Try those autonomous trucks out in the ice and snow and rain. You’re going to have more fatalities than you know what to do with. They also test them in wide open streets of Texas try that in the city and urban areas. I drive across the George Washington bridge every night and no autonomous truck are going to last crossing that bridge.

Andrew Yang had warned us. His plan to tax the companies running the AI and using that tax to fund a UBI program would save a lot of people, especially as jobs disappear with no replacement.

These tech guys don't care if their innovation is good on the middle to long term. All they want is sell their product as fast as posible and move on to the next new bullshit. They act like predators, and so they should be put in a cage.

Hey I'm not a truck driver but I can clearly see that this big corporation Aurora ; What it cares about is the bottom line MONEY!!!! Don't kid yourself, that's all these corporations care about.
There is not a shortage of drivers!!!! The drivers need to be paid substantially more than what they're making and get the middleman out of there Which is clogging up the system!!!! Let the truck driver do his work, which is hauling goods for the rest of us here in the USA and abroad so we all partake in supporting each other, DOING THE RIGHT THING in our endeavors as serve each other. This is how God intended God Bless you Truckers We Thank You
for all you do and all you sacrifice.

First thing I am an ex-trucker I'd keep trucking. But my disease of multiple sclerosis doesn't make it safe for me to do so. Which sucks because I enjoyed it being a trucker and seeing this amazing cuntry and deliver something that the American populist needs. Is that's one thing that America doesn't get. Everything is delivered by a truck. And now, one of the great institutions of America swiftly trying to be whittled away.
By AUTONOMOUS trucks. And as a nation, we should band together and get rid of this. And be honest this video says truckers need to rest and stuff like that, this does happen yet 90% of the big trucking companies already have truckers that drive illegally and get tickets and the trucking company that supports them just pays the tickets and give him a warning and warning and another warning and never fire them. Because they're driving illegally, just so they can get to the pick up or drop off way early.
