Wabanaki Tribes Back Pingree, Hoping to Break Decades-Long Sovereignty Stalemate
Maine’s Wabanaki tribes are aligning with gubernatorial nominee Hannah Pingree, hoping the partnership will finally secure the sovereignty rights tribal leaders have sought for decades. Pingree said she has been in direct contact with tribal leaders and pledged to work with them to extend rights that have long been denied to Maine’s tribes.

Exactly the Maine tribes are not receiving Equal Protection Under the Law. It's long past due that the Maine tribes have their Sovereignty Recognized.

Right on. Representative Pingree is one of only 58 representatives that voted "nay" against H.R.8034. She voted against further support for the genocidal regime controlling Israel when hundreds betrayed their constituents.
To find out how your local representatives voted on H.R.8034…

Horrible thumbnail, ICT. We don't belong to the settler colonial racist state of Maine. Please don't call us Maine tribes. There's no such thing. Maines tribe are European settlers. We need to move beyond the term tribe also. We're a modern nation, just like the rest of the world. The white settlers don't call themselves tribes, neither should we. We're Indian Nations of Turtle Island. Let's decolonize and reject the Eurocentric terms, ok?
