OMG, so many people falling for the "well said" classic right wing BS. Some valid arguments and criticism to sound legit but claiming the "true free market" and "true free speech" etc. is actually better. Meritocracy, oh come on, in order to have that, you actually do have to fix the imbalance first. The wealth distribution gap is growing, you don't fix that by stopping helping the disadvantageous.

OK and the rule of law, look at trumps pardons and explain them to me… Explain your view on people who exploited position and who donated to trump. Seems like a high percentage of donors. SBF is still not pardoned because Sam didn't send money to trump, but some crypto bro will convince trump and it will be a nothing burger. Now-for all the people who made it to the end of my comments, LEX IS AWESOME. It is hard to go outside your bubble. Problems are complicated. Solutions are all imperfect. Power and money distort immensely. And most people dont have the time or patience to dig deep. Lex does that. Most people can't make it all the way through a podcast.

Since the civil rights movement of the 1960s and the turbulent process of integration through the 1970s, the U.S. could, at best, claim by the 1980s that racial discrimination against Black Americans had ended. However, the notion that merit alone ensures equality overlooks the lasting impact of centuries of discrimination. Take education, for example. Public schools rely on property taxes, meaning resources—teachers, facilities, and cultural support—remain largely local. Expecting Black communities' schools to suddenly compete with white communities' schools, after decades of systemic disadvantage, creates an illusion of fairness. It’s like starving a man for days, then feeding him once and expecting him to compete athletically with someone who has been well-nourished all along—while calling it a fair contest. The black americans have been enslaved and segregrated by more than 200 years on this land, and it's only 45 years since 1980s, do we really believe we have "righted" all the lasting impacts of the "wrongs" we have committed and, as a country black or white, ready for a pure fair game by merit? Or shall we say we may need another 20 years of biased policies towards black, asian, and other Americans (recall Asian exlusion act?) so that we can finally bring those demographics to the even starting point? Plus, for anyone who says racism is no more in America is delusioned! Have you ever heard a Asian american (born and grow up in America) asking a white American to go back to France, England, or Italy? But there are plenty white Americans will ask a hispanic or Asian american to go back to XYZ. There you are.

V's claim that the American Revolution was fought to establish the idea that "merit", not genetics or race should be the foundation of the economy is complete BULLCHIT! The truth – which I don't think he understands – is that at the time of the revolution, Africans were being kidnapped, tortured, and locked into slavery in America without the right to "vote without obstruction" without being able to compete for any job, and were not allowed to own property, make their own decisions, or marry who they wished to marry. African Americans were not enslaved because they had no merit in 1791 – they were enslaved due to the cruelty of oppressive white men, despite the merit that a Colin Powelll, Lebron James, Martin Luther King showed once slavery ended. This country was not build based upon merit -of its citizens it was built on slavery, and oppression V need to study what was actually happening in the US in the 1820s, 1790s, 1850s, etc. Does he even know slavery was the main driver of the US economy in 1791? Barf!

On Progressivism part, I do not think it is a matter of the founding fathers of the USA not practicing the values they were preaching. Rather, you could affirm HUMANS have been imperfect in those values, compared with your ideals of USA today, since their beginnings, which is NATURAL and expected as the evolving mammals we were.
Instead of attacking ourselves for acting as we were naturally supposed to act for centuries (like any other Sapiens group on this planet), let's congratulate ourselves for being one of the best versions on that evolution, and for aiming at continue to set higher goals for our civilization (compare with other Sapiens on this planet…).
Homo erectus evolved naturally to attack other groups. We are our best version yet and are upgrading continuously.
The extreme left has gone ape bananas on pretending an impossible perfectionism, specially when many other groups are far behind. You cannot force yourself to be that utopic futuristic version, playing by an exquisite set of rules, when most of the planet is not and is still at a closer mammal to sapiens stage on attacking the different. Even more when done in the name of those invisible inexistent gods, which apparently gives them the ruling power of the most despotic human kings who have ever existed…
Summing up, stop criticizing the founding fathers and the people who lived before us. They were the product of those times and must aim at getting better each generation, with patience, and I fully agree that rushing or discriminating the majority or the ones who represent those great founding father groups is making things worst.
If go allow the extreme far left to rule, we may end up living in the wild and yielding our houses and cities to monkeys and gorillas, because we are ashamed of the apes we were😂

That's quite rich for someone who seems to have zero problems supporting Trump's behaviour on and after January 6, him stealing top secret documents, him aiding and abetting a foreign nation to interfere in the US elections, and all the other things which are literally the opposite of the rule of law.
