Virtual Exhibit Booth: Northern Arizona University

92.9 The Torch | March 18, 2025

Northern Arizona University (NAU) sits at the base of the San Francisco Peaks, on homelands sacred to Native Americans throughout the region. We honor their past, present, and future generations, who have lived here millennia and will forever call this place home. NAU is located at 7,000 feet in Flagstaff, Arizona. Flagstaff is recognized as the #1 best college town in AZ (AIER 2017 College Destinations Index), the #5 best college for mountain biking (SingleTracks.com) and is the world’s first International Dark Sky City. NAU’s campus is a 1½ mile long and ½ a mile wide with about 22,000 undergraduate students. NAU is built on a student-first foundation-this was true when we opened our doors 120 years ago, and it’s true now. The traditions and values of our past inform the innovations that help us shape the future.

Our campus life is diverse and our students hail from all 50 states. The NAU community includes 100+ tribes represented on campus, 46% first-generation students and both a Native American Cultural Center and an Office of Inclusion: Multicultural & LGBTQIA+ Student Services. The Native American Cultural Center serves as a home away from home to many Native American, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian and all Indigenous-identifying students. This Center also houses the Office of Indigenous Student Success’ bridge summer program, peer mentor support and connections to campus resources. NAU also has over 400 clubs and organizations for you to choose from and get involved with during your time as a student.

With nearly 100 undergraduate, 75+ graduate and accelerated degree programs available, NAU has plenty of opportunities for you to achieve academic success. Our average class size is 31 students per class, and our student to faculty ratio is 19:1. While some of our most popular programs include: Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Psychological Sciences, Nursing, Hotel and Restaurant Management and Education, we invite you to visit our webpage to learn more about your desired program.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about Northern Arizona University! Please visit nau.edu/virtual to sign up for an admissions presentation, participate in a virtual tour of campus, and learn more about our academic programs, campus community and involvement opportunities.
