Vintage Pac-Attack SCORE | Thrift PICK-UPS for June 2026

GenXGrownUp | July 2, 2026

Another month of thrifting means another pile of retro treasures to share! This time I’m looking through the games, books, records, toys, gadgets, and oddball finds I picked up while digging through antique malls, thrift stores, flea markets, yard sales, and anywhere else old nerdy stuff might be hiding. Some of these are just fun additions to the collection, but others may turn into full GenXGrownUp videos down the road — so let me know what catches your eye.

I always enjoy your thrift videos, especial since I can see stuff I never knew existed. I remember having a couple story book records as a kid, but I have no clue where my mom found them. Since you have a soft spot for truckers, please tell me you got a CW McCall record! When I was a pup, I had his greatest hits on a 33 record. Memories of that record caused me to seek out and get his greatest hits on CD so I could listen to it again.

You saved the best for last Jon! My brother and I each had one of those Pac Man games that we picked up at a flea market not long after they were released IIRC.

Nice episode! Geez, for some reason I was thinking shrinky-dinks when you displayed the Colorforms. Finally clicked, and I recall I had a Peanuts colorforms set. Bionic Woman, cool! I vaguely recall Jack & Jill magazine, but as for what catches my eye to showcase later, def the video games.

So much cool stuff. Some great memories. I had a total crush on Jaime Sommers and watched that show all the time. Those records are sweet. I bought a bunch of those Read Along books/records for my granddaughter and she really loves them. Thanks for sharing this stuff!

I played the bionic woman boardgame to death back in the 70s. I loved the pictures on the board itself which related to the mission cards. Great game. Just off on a tangent, have you ever played War of the Daleks? One of my favourite board games. There was also 20000 leagues under the sea which was more or less the exact same game as War of the Daleks.

Dude!! You both shocked me and brought me to tears! I had forgotten all about this until you slid it across your desk. The Spiderman Colorforms! I literally had this when I was a little guy! Immediately wispy memories of playing with this with my Mom started coming to my mind! I haven't had nostalgia hit me that hard in forever, but here I sat, hands over my mouth, tears welling in my eyes, seeing something I haven't seen in 50 plus years! Is it silly to get all weepy over some little sticky plastic? Admittedly, yes. But I'll never apologize when it comes to remembering fun times with my Mom. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

For the first 5 years of my life, we lived next door to a retired school teacher, and she gave us several of the book/record combos. Bedtime for Francis was one of them. Thanks for unlocking a very early memory!

Jon..I loved every bit of this video. I had the Spiderman colorforms and a bunch of the comics, Wow! i also appreciated you showing some of what you didn't buy, Mighty Mouse, Sesame Street, Bionic Woman, Space Invaders, Pac Man, …I loved it all! Thanks for the memories.

Power Records were a personal top tier favorite for me … they paired great with my Mego action figures! (And yes I did have The Falcon to go with my Captain America for that one set)
Those and Viewmaster were the Streaming of our days … how we got the experience of on-demand tales of our beloved characters even before VHS or cable, much less internet streaming.
And I hope you do a feature on the PacMan and that Space Invaders
    Love these episodes Jon

That Robin Meets Man-Bat record was my favorite as a kid. the sound effect they used for Man-bat gave me chills and the visual design of him with those big bat ears were so scary to me. I loved that record. Still have it and Stacked Cards somewhere. That was a brutal murderous Joker story. the rigor grin on the bank guards face, great scary art for a kids book

Oh wow!!! Holy memory dump, Batman!!!! I totally remember that tomytronic pac-man game!!!! My friend had it, and I loved playing it when I would go to his house. I thought it was amazing and fun. I totally forgotten about that until now. Thanks, Jon. I love seeing your artifact finds. 👾👾👾

WOW! Great haul! @blockydad80 just got a bunch of Star Wars books on record (I think he got the ROTJ one). I squealed at the TomyTronic Pac-Man; it has been popping up on an saved search I have going on the bay. Another inspiring video, Jon. We're hitting a flea market this weekend, and I will be channeling your scope and curatorial eye.

"Here I Come to Save the Day!" I can still hear that theme in my head after all these years.

Seriously you need a 3rd channel just to digitize up some of these records and put them out where all can enjoy them. Think of it as a preservation excersize. Almost every time you show a set of media and old toys, there will be at least one item where either I had it, or my brother or sister had it (in which case as the youngest I inherited it for a time), or a cousin or something had it so I at least remember it.

So i saw the Grover book at the start of this and it reminded of the conversation in the chat during the edit this week about the Grover 2600 game. So now they pair up together well.
Nice haul this month, looking forward to the videos about those at the end.

Those DB records are pretty unique! I would love to hear those. My step-dad wouldn't let us listen to music on road trips; he had to keep that CB-radio on Channel 19. Awful…but memories!
