US-Iran Nuclear Talks in Geneva; Trump Will Be ‘Indirectly’ Involved | Daybreak Europe 02/17/2026

On today’s show, the US and Iran are set to hold nuclear talks in Geneva, with President Donald Trump saying Tehran wants to make a deal and adding that he will be involved in the negotiations “indirectly.” Iran has been conducting naval exercises in the region of a critical shipping corridor.
Another round of US-brokered discussions between Russia and Ukraine is also set to get underway in Geneva. Major sticking points are still unresolved amid continued fighting and deep divisions over land and security guarantees.
Bloomberg’s learned that SpaceX and xAI are competing in a secretive new Pentagon contest to produce voice-controlled, autonomous drone swarming technology.

Trump's declaration of "I will reclaim the Panama Canal"
sparked concerns within the US political community and the US military about China's potential control of the Panama Canal. This is because the Chinese military could militarily block the two ports if necessary. US security experts have pointed out that the Chinese government could pressure these companies to block commercial and military cargo transport in the event of a sudden upheaval or war. If merchant ships or naval warships from the eastern US cannot use the Panama Canal to travel to the Indo-Pacific region, including Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and the South China Sea, they would have no choice but to bypass the South American continent.
Daniel Lund, Senior Vice President of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), a US think tank, noted, "While the Panamanian government controls the entire Panama Canal, the Chinese government could request Hong Kong companies to assist with military operations." Evan Ellis, a professor at the US Army War College, also expressed concern that "China could disrupt the Panama Canal in various ways, such as sinking ships or disrupting computer networks in the event of an emergency." There have even been calls in the US Congress for the US to regain control of two Chinese ports within the Panama Canal. Meanwhile, in his inaugural address on January 20th of last year (local time), US President Donald Trump declared that he would regain control of the Panama Canal from China. 😮

Iran can use thorium for peaceful nuclear energy, because thorium cannot be used for nuclear weapons.
There is enough thorium combined with breeder reactors to create enough thorium to provide enough electrical energy for all of civilization until the Earth dies (billions of years).
If Iran doesn't want thorium, then now we know why; they want nuclear weapons.

The only possible DEAL I see is this just an FYI; I'm not doing this for Trump but for a movement toward Selflessness(to save souls, if anything) Here's the DEAL:
ISREAL + SAUDI ARABIA-> "Make the plutonium for the Nuclear Generators." Also, "Both of those countries are responsible for any-time Inspections of any Nuclear facilities (determined by those 2 parties and the USA by satellite scanning or ground-based Giger counter meters.) Thirdly, Iran must agree with this deal, in their way, but fully agree to inspections, and pay a reasonable sum to SAUDI and/or ISREALI depts. for their work. (reasonable) (maybe the 2 wealthy countries can even take a slight loss a few years of the beginning of this DEAL.
FYI: If Iran sees this; Make the damn deal, if it is even an offer. THAT STUPID COMMERCIALIZED 400S TO ISREAL MISSLE, SO STUPID. WTH IS WRONG WITH YOUR LEADERS??? I DON'T TAKE SIDES HERE.
