I'm sorry James, I love 99.9% of every political insight you utter, but you're wrong about 47 walking away. There are 4 reasons he cannot walk away. 1) The Roy Cohn mantra of always attack is so part of his emotional makeup that he will always instinctively believe his best advantage is to be found wielding the power he can have through incessantly controlling the media and the narrative. 2) his self obsession cannot abide the notion that he would not be the centre of everything – and he can golf and visit Mar a Lago while being PotUS 3) the chances for grift and outright self-enriching corruption radically diminish if he stops being PotUS. 4) same as 3 but re. the shielding advantages he gets for himself and his family businesses by continuing to be PotUS. Apart from 2 above, the above 4 all have a solid game theory bases.
Bottom line – he won't willingly leave.

Can we stop wasting precious air time with Carville? Frankly, he is irrelevant and I'd rather listen to folks who are truly in the know. His predication history has been wrong for years. There are better subjects out there to interview. We don't need to hear from the fossils of the Democratic party.

I’d say, and I’m in Iowa, there’s a real shot of the Democrats winning but there’s still an ember burning for the MAGA BS. oh they quiet. the flags and hats and signs are gone. they know they look dumb. but they still think liberals are trying to turn us all transgender. there’s also a deep seated resentment for liberals and that’s what worries me. It’s not that they like Trump. They just will never associate with the liberals because they have been brainwashed to believe that means they think women are men or whatever. it’s really effective. and the media does not help. it’s all garbage. and the candidates are not exactly remarkable. and oh by the way Rob Sand. it would be great if he wasn’t also part of a family who owns a billion dollar agriculture company while these exact companies are not helping Iowans. with cancer rates and economy etc. So Democrats the game has changed get serious or get out.

Concerning the military, don't fool yourselves. Even if the high ranking are not as a rule MAGA, there is a large portion of the rank and file that are. Hegseth knows this. He will have to problem replacing the traditional leadership with committed MAGA faithful. The resulting new force will most likely not be the best in the world, but good enough to crush any dissent in the US.
