So you mentioned that the 11th circuit court has 6 trump appointees sitting on it… I know it may seem silly to ask but if corruption is the worry shouldn’t those judges be incapable of ruling on the matter? There’s a massive conflict of interest isn’t there? Edit: You just mentioned it, so you may answer this along the way, but just in case I asked 😊

Honestly, I dread the appeal + what happens if the appeal goes beyond the 11th Circuit. With how packed the court is now, it would not surprise me if they took the opportunity to reverse prior decisions about the PRA and executive privilege.
We really fucked ourselves by letting this guy into office with so many judicial seats open/about to open. I swear I’m gonna fistfight the next person who scoffed, “they won’t overturn Roe v Wade” and now is all shocked that they did. Literally the only good thing to come out of this is that people seem to understand how important our court system is now.

weird take on the reviews for lotr…. do you just not know the context? tv shows getting ranked by people who didn’t even watch the show is super common lately. that’s just the reactionary MO when a show with what they claim is “forced diversity” comes out. happened with ms. marvel. happened with she-hulk. it’s not in anyway actually indicative of the quality of the show. this is not to say that people can’t criticize something but I think reasonable people are more than capable of understanding the difference between echoing incel/racist/whatever else talking points and genuine criticism.

As a Canadian from the province next to Saskatchewan I was shocked the RCMP( our police)sent out alerts this far away. I came up like an amber alert. I wasn't shocked about stabbings which are far more common than shootings here. Yay pew pew control

Former Process Server. Celebs are HARD to get to. They have the money to paywall you out. They can just leave their house for a hotel. They can stall proceedings for so long because they are ducking service. So yeah. If I had tried to get to her and failed due to that obstruction? I'd totally go to the one place I know they are going to be and that I cannot be barred from because it's a public venue (even if it's a private event). Anybody serving documents would. If you wouldn't, you don't make it long in the business.
The Server was absolutely slick and did not say "You have been Served" at the top of their lungs or wave the documents around. They just handed them to Ms. Wilde, said something quietly, and went on. It only made news because she said something. If she didn't want something like that to happen, she could just schedule service. And every celeb in a divorce has a lawyer and a lawyer can be served on behalf of a client. That she didn't have one argues, again, that she's not accepting service.
And I don't know how Process Servers are used in Michigan, but in California, the percentage completed is the number you are trying to hit. No other number matters. People don't call up and ask how nice you are. They want to know how many times you got the person served. I had a 98% hit rate at the time I was serving and every time I was running up against the end of the time I had to serve people, I was moving mountains to get them served. If I dropped below 95%, I would start losing my best clients. So no thanks. Her award and my ability to eat food more substantial than ramen are not on the same level.
On the other hand, a severe car accident while process serving halted that job and I have spent 10x what I made that year on medical bills alone since then. So it's not exactly a good profession to get into. And if anybody does, get plenty of extra insurance.

Leeja I am OBSESSED with this new format! Everything is so clean, visually appealing and stylish without being overwhelming! I have audio processing issues so I do hope in the future there's more in the way of subtitles/closed captioning/transcript but that's the only suggestion I've got I love all of this so much

In the middle of the pride parade in Calgary, Alberta, there was an emergency alert sent out about that stabbing cause they thought that they may have been traveling to alberta. It was kind of ironic funny on the timing.

Given 31:00 and 31:35… 31:39 makes me sad. Don't do it! Batteries can be replaced if it really is a failing battery, and if it's not, do you really want to support a company that deliberately slows down phones? I'm still using my iPhone 6, and that's only because it still works. I don't intend to "upgrade"… I'm done with Apple, for many reasons, including shenanigans like this.

Leeja I know this isnt about international law but could you talk about how Chile's new constitution was rejected? Im so sad ☹️ At least it was a democratic thing but it feels like such a loss. Given you lived here, what is your opinion on this and on the fact that people that voted to approve it (like me) are treating people that rejected it like ignorant rednecks (which I'm inclined to do but I also know not everyone is like that) I just feel sad 🙁 Nowhere else it would be fine to use a dead extrimist dictator's picture as a positive propaganda for your cause, unironically, wtf :c

Rings of Power was review bombed. Mostly by people who don't like POC in there Middle Earth. Read into that what you will. Also the going theory with the relationship between Wild and Pugh is that Wild didn't want to fire LeBouf even though Pugh wasn't comfortable with LeBouf.

The Saskatchewan stabbing is getting attention for a few reasons:
1) Mass casualty events in Canada are still incredibly rare. When they happen, they dominate the news.
2) The RCMP's (Canada's National police force) response to Canada's last mass casualty event (April of 2020 in Nova Scotia) is currently the subject of a public inquest due to massive failures on the RCMP's part. They are VERY eager to demonstrate to Canadians they are competent right now.
3) Historical injustices against Canada's Native communities has been in the national spotlight this past year (partly bc of mass graves uncovered at Residential School sites, though many survivors had already testified that these graves existed for years so really we just randomly decided to care this part year). This means news events related to First Nation communities and populations have been getting more attention.

So with LOTR reviewed Amazon partially did that because people were spamming 1 star reviews before they even watched the show. Some people on the internet are salty that there is a female lead, other people are fans who will just never be pleased.

With the current 'criticism' of Rings I see online (which is basically racism) I can understand why Amazon is trying to restrict reviews. We've seen in the past movies with POC/queer people get downvoted to hell by dumb people. Let's hope this 37% is warranted and not made in bad faith.
